The Collapse Of Judgment

by Hugh Hewitt - August 3, 2006 - Townhall.com
If you could save the victims of one of the following four events, which group would you save?

1. The victims of Fidel Castro's "revolution?"

2. The victims of Hezbollah's ambushes, rockets and missiles over the past three weeks?

3. The victims of the Seattle attack on the Jewish federation?

4. The victims of Mel Gibson's repulsive outburst of anti-Semitic venom?

If all human life is valued equally, you'd have to save Castro's millions of victims, the Hezbollah's thousands, then the one dead and many injured in Seattle, and then Gibson's offended.

As an extraordinary week draws to a close, though, you wouldn't have any sense of scale or importance if you had been watching American media or reading American commentary.

Hugh Hewitt is certainly one of the primary reasons that blogging continues its significant growth. More and more literate and sane writers are coming from the ranks of the bloggers and becoming key players in the world of political commentary.

Blogging allows for many to reject the insane world of the MSM. And yet, the MSM has permitted certain opinions to become well established in the cause of the destruction of western culture and the free enterprise system especially. Such views as believing that invading Iraq was a mistake have become "accepted wisdom" for many. However what has happened is that as more people become aware of this attack on our nation and its fundamental building blocks that have contributed to freedom, those who accept the MSM view have become more and more hostile to bloggers and their followers who criticise them.

Somehow the MSM adherents resent not being able to listen to "the experts" and simply accept their world view. As more people challenge them in their perceptions it becomes clear that they do not understand the arguments that underlie the MSM positions they accept. Every time they lose an argument at the office, or at club meetings, ar out at dinner at night, they get mad and attack those who read blogs and understand the facts.

If you want to understand some important facts about what is happening in our world, this is a good article to read. Actually almost any blog would be a better place to get your news than any MSM.
