Melting Swiss Glacier Yields Neolithic Trove, Climate Secrets

"We know now that the discoveries on Schnidejoch are the oldest of this kind ever made in the Alps," said Albert Hafner, an expert with the archaeology service in Bern canton.

They have allowed researchers not only to piece together snapshots of life way back when, but also to shed light on climate fluctuations in the past 6,500 years -- and hopefully shed light on what is happening now.

"For us, the site itself is the most important find because we have this correlation between climate change and archaeological objects," Hafner said.

"We know that people were only able to walk on this site when it was relatively warm," said Martin Grosjean, executive director of a national network called Swiss Climate Research. "When it was too cold, the glacier advanced and it was not a passable route."

The man-is-causing-global-warming fanatics are excited by this discovery because they get to focus on the fact that the glacier is melting now. From that, as the reporter here notes, they get to repeat the mantra that the earth is warming up, oh-my-god, oh-my-god. What they ignore, as they usually ignore, is that this discovery means the earth was as warm 5100 years ago as it is today. Like the evidence presented here in an article on the Yukon explaining the amazing discoveries on climate being unearthed by archeologists. Does that not penetrate their biased agenda to suggest once again that the earth's temperatures cycle on a regular basis?

We had the medieval warm period which melted the glaciers 1000 years ago, which followed a period of cold weather that made the glaciers advance. This Swiss discovery means of course that before that it was warm about 5000 years ago. In the century since the medieval warm period and then the little ice age which brought back a few centuries of cold weather, we are now seeing global warming again. It is the lack of acceptance that such cycles are not man caused that is the point of disagreement.

The global warming hysterics think the solution is to abandon use of cheap fuels and expose man to the elements to stop a cycle that man is not causing. This is not rational or logical. Mankind needs all the energy we can get to control our environment so that whether it keeps warming or, AS IT ALWAYS HAS, turns around and starts to cool again, we can live comfortable lives.
