Conservatism And
The 'Post-Election' GOP

by Jim Brown - October 31st, 2008 - OneNewsNow

OneNewsNow has learned that Family Research Council president Tony Perkins and Conservative HQ chairman Richard Viguerie will be attending [a meeting after the Tuesday election]. Viguerie, who has a Virginia home but is not hosting the event, says conservatives want to rebuild the party that "betrayed" them.

"Conservative leaders drank deeply of the Republican Kool-Aid, and they were silent during the years that George W. Bush, Karl Rove, Tom DeLay, [and] Mitch McConnell massively expanded government, including Ted Stevens," he contends. "I think that new, younger leadership is going to come to the fore and provide some exciting leadership for the conservative movement."

The only question is whether it is too late? Bush steered America left and expanded government control of everything. Obama is going to turn hard left and implement tyranny based Marxism. The only path back to freedom from socialism has traditionally been a bloody civil war followed by a dictator. Why do these conservatives think that this time will be different?
