Crisis Flummoxes White House

by Adam Entous And Jay Solomon - February 11th, 2011 - Wall Street Journal

The defiant tone taken by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak—and widespread confusion about the meaning of his speech—had White House officials stumbling for their next step in a crisis that was spinning out of their control.

Egyptian officials said Mr. Mubarak gave the Obama administration much of what it wanted: the delegation of presidential powers to the vice president, Omar Suleiman.

They said Mr. Mubarak had all but been rendered a figurehead leader, precisely the formulation set out by U.S. officials over the weekend.

But Mr. Mubarak's language and refusal to yield to what he called the intervention of foreigners left protesters furious, the scene in Cairo precarious and the White House seemingly unable to influence events.

The White House is in disarray as they flail around trying to find some way to blame this on George W. Bush. Since they have taken office, that has been the Obama administration standard method of operation. So far in this crisis, they have not found any credible way to blame Bush and it has left them with a complete lack of ideas.

However if you watch the MSM the fact that Obama and his administration are totally ineffective and do not have a clue what to do next is simply ignored. The greatest example of ignorance has been their futile attempts to portray the Muslim Brotherhood as a 'largely secular' organization that 'has eschewed violence'... direct quotes by Obama's Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

If they truly believe that, they are imbeciles. If they don't, they are liars.

Combine that example with Obama's Secratary of State, Hillary Clinton, assuring us all 3 weeks ago that Egypt was "stable" and we need have no concerns about it remaining our ally.

Who wants to place a bet on that ridiculous prediction now?

So their response is inadequate. What would you propose they do? What's your solution to the Egyptian revolution?

A rational strategy needs to be developed that ceases to depend on ignorant misunderstandings.

1. Accept that the Islamic extremists really are dedicated to a restoration of the world wide caliphate as they proclaim and stop the day dream that they are mad at us for anything we have done or because they are poor - they are some of the richest countries per capita in the world.
2. Recognize that no Muslims anywhere have a cultural acceptance of the principles of democracy or freedom and that the overwhelming majority are dedicated to beheading all non Muslims. They hate us because we are not Muslim. Therefore they will vote in a Sharia based dictatorship every time.
3. Stop wasting our money promoting a nation building that is inconsistent with the two realities listed above or sending humanitarian aide that is diverted to the war against us.
4. Stop ignoring that when a couple more Islamic states have nuclear weapons, Tel Aviv and Washington will become nuclear waste lands at the hands of Islamic terrorists - along with several other cities that will be equally devastated. That will be followed by the nuclear holocaust we avoided during the cold war.

The crisis we face is not about the Egyptian revolution. It continues to be, as it has for more than 20 years, a crisis that will lead to either the elimination of Western civilization or the elimination of Islamic Sharia law. Any continuation of the short sighted one step at a time reactive efforts that Clinton, Bush and now Obama have followed merely guarantees the elimination of America as a free nation.

I doubt I will live long enough to deal with the forced conversion to Islam that the next generation is facing. If you think you will like that lifestyle, try living in any of the Middle Eastern countries as they are now. It will teach you what it is like for the majority of people, especially women, to live as pariahs in that America.

Or accept that Thomas Jefferson was right. "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Assuming you have the guts to live free.
