Mike Tyson Campaigns For Michael Steele

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is promoting his return to the ring, but he's campaigning for Maryland U.S. Senate candidate Michael Steele at the same time.

In Strongsville, Ohio Tuesday, Tyson wore a white and blue Steele for U.S. Senate T-shirt and said he used to believe black Republicans were "sellouts."

The 40-year-old Tyson said "We have to open our eyes more."

Interesting. Steele is a great candidate and a strong Republican. Socially conservative. Fiscally more conservative than some in the party, but not on the far right. He is a great personal success story and sells himself well. This race should be interesting. The long term strategy of Republicans to reach out to the huge conservative constituency in the African-American community is even more interesting.
