Coulter v. The Counter-Coulters

by Brent Bozell - January 7th, 2009 - Creator's Syndicate

The new book by Ann Coulter has started a brand new campaign to ban her, and it is coming mostly from those who want to shut down talk radio as "hate speech". Brent has written a great article exposing the hypocrisy.

... liberals who claim to oppose "inflammatory rhetoric" on television when it comes from conservatives have no problem with uncivil liberalism. Or 100 percent hate-filled left-wing character assassination. Take NBC, which could not look sillier if it ever seriously banned Coulter for being hyperbolic, when vicious, hyperbolic liberals (Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews) dominate MSNBC.

It's easy to run down a list of inflammatory liberals who are welcomed on the TV morning shows. Start with Kitty Kelley's wild "investigative" books on the Reagans or the Bushes. Or Michael Moore's kooky conspiracy theories. Or [newly proclaimed Senator] Al Franken suggesting Karl Rove and Scooter Libby should be executed over Plamegate.

I have a friend who has read a couple of Coulter's books and finds her over the line. I think they are funny. But then I, like Coulter, find the coming Marxist domination of our nation a truly outrageous abandonment of our national heritage. Anything that outrages liberals as much as Ann does is okay in my book.

What does bother me is how many conservatives, and moderates, do not realize how close we are to losing our democracy along with free enterprise and personal liberty. Minnesota is just the start of a willingness by Democrats nation wide to adopt the corruption of Chicago as the standard operating procedure for the Democrat party.
