The Presser, Synopsized

by Mary Katharine Ham - April 29th, 2009 - Weekly Standard

Speaking of border security, Obama didn't entirely close the door to closing the border with Mexico to prevent [swine - struck out in original but that font capability is not possible in this format] H1N1 flu spread, but said he's "consulting daily and sometimes hourly with public health officials who recommended against it." He added:
"From their perspective it would be akin to closing the barn door after the horses are out. We already have cases in the United States."

To which I say, OMG did Barack Obama just call immigrants horses? How insensitive!

Great line!

I am not a regular reader of Mary Katherine Hamm, but I recently added her to my list of people to check out due to her kind article on our Edenton Tea Party. Like me she was struck by the President of the United States feeling we are so stupid that he needed to go on TV to remind us to wash our hands.

With a collapsing economy, a global war against Islamo-fascism and a continuing illegal invasion from adjacent countries to take the few jobs available from our poor, I have only one question. Is Obama focused on this health issue because he has attention deficit disorder or because he really does think no one else in America can tell us how to micro manage our lives?
