ACORN's Labor Pains

by Matthew Vadum - August 7th, 2009 - American Spectator

With its members dressed in bright red shirts, ACORN organizes crude protests against businesspeople and public officials. Opposed to the profit motive and capitalism in general, it pushes for more government control over citizens and the economy.

Even if the latest allegations don't lead to criminal charges, it's worth noting that the nation's largest community-based activist organization, which claims to defend the working class, has a record of profound, abiding hostility to the very same pro-labor laws it claims to support.

Although it supports the continued imposition of equal employment opportunity laws on the rest of America, it argued it shouldn't have to comply with those same laws.

The coalition that made Barack Obama a household name is the same coalition that is now at the center of almost all attempts to squash any dissent by those who disagree with Obama's specific plans. Yet they continue to flaunt our laws. ACORN is a corrupt organization. This article is one of the best compilations of their numerous violations I have seen. For those who fear for America losing its freedom, understanding the goals and techniques of this evil enterprise is as important as understanding the deceit of the Alinsky method that Obama and Democrats now follow.
