America Is At Risk Of Boiling Over

by Peggy Noonan - August 6th, 2010 - Wall Street Journal

The country I was born into was a country that had existed steadily, for almost two centuries, as a nation in which everyone thought—wherever they were from, whatever their circumstances—that their children would have better lives than they did. That was what kept people pulling their boots on in the morning after the first weary pause: My kids will have it better. They'll be richer or more educated, they'll have a better job or a better house, they'll take a step up in terms of rank, class or status. America always claimed to be, and meant to be, a nation that made little of class. But America is human. "The richest family in town," they said, admiringly. Read Booth Tarkington on turn-of-the-last-century Indiana. It's all about trying to rise.

No one today thinks their kids will have it better. Kids today don't see any future except taking from others. 60 years of socialist dogma from teachers has destroyed the idea that wealth is created and our nation can be made richer. To the young of today, wealth just is, and the idea is to force those who have it to give it to you. If the young of today have to work their first choice is a government job from which they cannot be fired. They would prefer welfare.

Noonan is not one of my favorite writers. She has become a 'ruling class' excuse machine and wrapped herself around the beauty of electing Barack Obama as President. She bought his Marxist bilge and defended him.

Now his extreme divisiveness is becoming clear. Yet Noonan still cannot see that 'fundamentally transforming' a nation that many loved as it is - is going to make enemies of those who did not want; open borders, redistribution of wealth to the lazy, apologies to all our enemies as if we were the ones at fault, and a constant litany of sanctimonious preaching from this man who has never done anything of value. He may be a great campaigner, but name one thing that Obama has done that made America better? Of course for those who think taking money from those who have worked for it and giving it to those who will not work for it to be "doing something great", you will get a totally different answer.

The problem that both Noonan and Obama are facing is that the nation is being torn apart because of their delusions. Their gullible belief that the people of America would just roll over and give up their wealth without a fight is delusional. The belief that people who loved liberty would kowtow to government bureaucrats is not rational.

Noonan fears a "... a movement in some states to break away from the union... a drama of Lincolnian darkness." Unfortunately it is starting to be considered by many. Why do you think Glen Beck and others who love our nation are talking this down? They are asking the Tea Party to commit to winning the day through voting alone. They counsel against secession or revolution. They are not deaf. They hear the anger. They hear the frustration. They hear the rejection of becoming slaves to government bureaucrats. They know most conservatives and libertarians do not want secession. Yet it is a growing threat to our nation. It could break out of control.

The problem exists because even within the conservative and libertarian movement there is a separation on social issues of gargantuan proportions. George W. Bush with his idea man Karl Rove tried to make the Republican Party a progressive dominated party which legislated morality. It tore the party apart. Because Republicans were weakened, Democrats took over two branches of government and with the appointment of Kagan are rapidly taking over the third. As bad as Bush was, Obama and his regime are worse. If you trust no party it is easy to believe the only option is the option that created our nation. Revolution.

Thomas Jefferson said of this idea as the first revolution took hold, "Believe me, dear Sir: there is not in the British empire a man who more cordially loves a union with Great Britain than I do. But, by the God that made me, I will cease to exist before I yield to a connection on such terms as the British Parliament propose; and in this, I think I speak the sentiments of America."

It is coming to the point where more and more Americans can honestly say, "Believe me, dear Sir: there is not in America a man or woman who more cordially loves a union with the other states than I do. But, by the God that made me, I will cease to exist before I yield to a connection on such terms as the American Progressive tyranny propose; and in this, I think I speak the sentiments of [name a state]."

America is being torn apart by people whose goal it is to tear it apart so they can build in its place a progressive utopia (also known as a socialist tyranny). They cannot seriously believe there would not be a furious resistance. They cannot believe that they will succeed with out blood in the streets.

The truth is that a growing pluarilty sees America's federal government as their enemy. One way or another, that will not last.
