GOP Wins Majority In
Both Legislative Chambers
[Of North Carolina]

by Lynn Bonner and Michael Biesecker - November 2nd, 2010 - Raleigh Obsever

Republicans made history on Election Day as they seized control of North Carolina’s legislature for the first time in more than a century.

Democratic leaders in both the state House and Senate conceded to their Republican counterparts late Tuesday.

This was more than a wave election. It was also a lot of hard work. My congratulations to the huge number of people all over North Carolina who worked to overcome a century of one party rule in North Carlina. It has been embarrassing to be thought the most corrupt state in the nation, as some have called us. It has been embarrasing to watch political corruption dominate the legislative process for so many years.

We are not done. To overcome the destruction of our schools, the dominance by global socialists of our news media, the growing dependence on socialist handouts by so many of our people, the cultural destruction of our youth's commitment to excellence, the perversion of the idea of free markets by the Wall Street Kleptocrats; changing all of this will take many years.

This must not be seen as victory in a war, but a first victory in one battle to take our country back.

It is also not just a North Carolina victory. We have started the push back against the socialist movement all over the nation with the partial victory in the U.S. Congress. Take a moment to feel good. Then get back in the battle. We are not done.
