Europe's View Of America
I am amused by the illusion that has been fostered by Democrats that Europe will love us now that Barack Obama is about to become our President.
Two articles that came out today, prove that in reality, nothing that America does will be popular. The premise of loving Obama is an illusion. Barack Obama is about to become the focus of all complaints about America. The reason is simple. Europe needs America to be a successful free market nation so they can export their products from their socialized industries based on variable costs alone. Without that ability, their nations cannot compete and cannot survive. However they still hate us, even though they need us. It is that dichotomy that so frustrates their intellecutal leadership and drives their hatred.

They are not complementary at all. Barack Obama is not even President yet and Europe is already attacking him. I am really interested in how all the Democrats who said the vitriol from Europe was all George W. Bush's fault are going to explain this!

I would say that Europe doesnt hate America, I would think it is very cautious. The Daily Mail source is to be expected as it is that sort of paper!There was a similar article in the Express, both are well known for the fear mongering and pessimism.
Besides Were is the rest of Europe on this, i dont see any stuff from any other nation. Dont be too pessamistic too soon.
A point i would say is that around 200000 people came out to hear Obama speak in Berlin and then he was just a Candidate. So there must be some Liking there. Also political parties are jumping all over themselves to be put in the same vain as Obama at the moment over here in the UK, its crazy.
I don't have any illusions that Obama will lose support from the Global Socialist Movement, and there is an element in every country that subscribes to that delusion. I just don't think that anything Obama can do will keep the America haters from looking for somebody in authority in America to blame.
