Obama & Company,
Growing Up Fast

by Victor Davis Hanson - December 3rd, 2010 - National Review Online

Old laws predicated on human nature cannot so easily be discarded — even by utopians who think they have the power to cool the planet and stop the rising seas. Borrowed money really has to be paid back. Governments cannot operate without confidentiality. Nations perish if they cannot protect themselves from existential threats. Watching a therapeutic Barack Obama grow up and learn these tragic lessons is as enlightening as it is sometimes scary.

Victor Davis Hanson is an honest writer with great insight into history. More than most on the right he interjects into his criticisms a more intelligent synopsis of the shortcomings of those on the left. That is much of the reason I admire his writings. This article is an excellent summation of the problems that Obama is facing in his struggle to govern a nation that he does not understand, in a world which is dramatically different than his ideologically driven biases influenced him to expect.
