Israel Recoils As
U.S. Backs Nuclear Move

Editorial - May 31st, 2010 - Breitbart.com

The resolution adopted by the United Nations on Friday calls on Israel to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and urges it to open its facilities to inspection.

It also calls for a regional conference in 2012 to advance the goal of a nuclear-free Middle East.

Israel is widely believed to be the only nuclear power in the Middle East, with around 200 warheads, but has maintained a policy of deliberate ambiguity about its capabilities since the mid-1960s.

The document, which singles out Israel but makes no mention of Iran's controversial nuclear programme, drew a furious reaction from the Jewish state who decried it as "deeply flawed and hypocritical."

But it was U.S. backing for the resolution which has caused the most consternation among Israeli officials and commentators, who interpreted the move as "a resounding slap around the face" which has dealt a very public blow to Israel's long-accepted policy of nuclear ambiguity.

Barack Obama has become one of the most aggressive proponents of gutting western nuclear capability, both American and Israeli. To what purpose? Only an idiot would doubt that it is consistent with his belief that America is the prime evil in the world. The weaker the west is, the greater the chance that Obama can force America to join a global government that will "protect" America by global unity.

Does Obama not give any credence to the fact that Iran has repeatedly threatened to nuke Tel Aviv, while Israel has never made threats against its neighbors?

I call Obama's global government goal "global idiocy", but who am I to doubt the man who can heal the oceans by his victory in a political campaign.

The End Of Democratic Socialism

by Monty Pelerin - May 29th, 2010 - American Thinker

The end of democratic socialism is at hand. The welfare states of the U.S. and Europe are financially out of control, spent and unsustainable. They have reached the point that Margaret Thatcher defined as the end of socialism: They have run out of other people's money. These areas of the world are about to change dramatically.

Victor Davis Hanson has a piece in National Review Online focused on Europe. His comments, while directed at Europe, are also applicable to the United States. Hanson states:

Five years ago, the European Union's account of itself resonated with end-of history triumphalism. In organic fashion, democratic socialism would spread eastward and southward, recivilizing the old Warsaw Pact and the Balkans through cradle-to-grave entitlements, state unionism, radical environmentalism, and utopian pacifism.

How quickly the dreams of just a short time ago have been shattered. Now the once-smug EU struggles desperately to survive.

We are not far behind, either in our eminent collapse or in the smug arrogance of the socialists in America. America, until the last 4 years was a generation behind Europe in its adoption of the welfare state and state unionism. With the 2006 takeover of congress by the Democrats, their immediate collusion with George W. Bush to ramp up the welfare state, and then the total takeover of our government by the extreme socialist wing of the Democrat Party in 2008, America has nearly caught up with Europe's impending collapse. 4 short years is all it took to move America from incipient socialism to full blown socialism. Like every socialist state in history, our collapse is rapidly approaching too.

US Money Supply Plunges
At 1930s Pace

... as Obama eyes fresh stimulus

by Ambrose Evans-Pritchard - May 26th, 2010 - London Telegraph

The M3 money supply in the United States is contracting at an accelerating rate that now matches the average decline seen from 1929 to 1933, despite near zero interest rates and the biggest fiscal blitz in history.

The M3 figures - which include broad range of bank accounts and are tracked by British and European monetarists for warning signals about the direction of the US economy a year or so in advance - began shrinking last summer. The pace has since quickened.

Since Barack Obama's financial advisers are all Keynesians who the article notes "despise traditional monetary theory and have a religious aversion to any mention of the quantity of money" their actions are not truly a suprise.

The financial genius of the last century, Milton Friedman is ignored by these totalitarian loving statist believers, assembled specifically by Obama to prove that American prosperity at the end of the 20th century was a fluke and not the result of trusting free enterprise.

Obama's advisers are going back in history and attempting the same techniques used by FDR in the 1930s to "fix" free enterprise. Like the failures of that decade the techniques they are using are failing again. That Obama's advisors are truly clueless is proved by the fact that they are surprised and confused by getting the same results that FDR did. Isn't there an old cliche about trying the same thing again and again and getting the same results?

Melanie Phillips On
A World Gone Mad

by Kathryn Jean Lopez - May 20, 2010 - National Review Online

INTERVIEW: Melanie Phillips, the British journalist, author of The World Turned Upside Down: The Global Battle over God, Truth, and Power.

LOPEZ: You write that progressives, Islamists, environmentalists, fascists, militant atheists, and religious fanatics are “united by a common desire to bring about through human agency the perfection of the world.” Is this becoming more apparent?

PHILLIPS: It may seem strange to lump all these ideologies together since they are all so different. But, when you look at them, it is immediately apparent that they are all at root utopian, millenarian visions of the perfection of the world through human agency — the age-old recipe for totalitarian terror. The idea that fascism is in a wholly different place from the Left is in my view quite misplaced: Although conventionally one is described as “right” and the other as “left,” this is historically and philosophically inaccurate; they share common roots in the repudiation of individual reason and liberty.

This interview of one of the leading writers of our day is a very long but extremely worthwhile read. I highly recommend it if you care about what is happening in our world. Melanie Phillips is frequently brilliant.

Meltdown: Why Ice Ages
Don't Last Forever

by Stephen Battersby - May 24th, 2010 - New Scientist

We now know that the polar ice caps started to form around 30 million years ago, as carbon dioxide levels fell. Around 2.5 million years ago, as it got colder still, a cycle began in which more extensive ice sheets repeatedly spread across the northern hemisphere and then retreated. At first, these ice ages were relatively minor and occurred roughly every 41,000 years - just as you would expect based on the changing tilt of Earth's axis.

But then, a little less than a million years ago, the pattern changed. A series of much more severe ice ages began that lasted 100,000 years. That is a big mystery, because although the shape of the Earth's orbit alters slightly over periods of 95,000 and 125,000 years, this has a far weaker effect on the seasons than the other orbital cycles. Why would the deepest ice ages be driven by the smallest changes in summer sunshine?

As this article explains, the new theory is based on discoveries in caves in China. The ice ages began when CO2 levels went down. New evidence also makes it clear that CO2 is released as ice ages end, as now when we are coming out of the little ice age. However all this evidence supports the theory that the earth's tilt drives the growth of ice ages, within some broader cycle and complexity that affects it greatly and is still not understood. It is this secondary effect that results in ice ages double the tilt cycle, though still in sync with it, that needs further research.

It is interesting that other scientists have focused on evidence that solar activity impacts temperatures here on earth, independent of the cooling cycle associated with the earth's tilt.

That theory is explored in the article by Lawrence Solomon, in the National Post, called
"It’s the Sun, stupid".

The science for both of these theories is in agreement that CO2 does not cause the increase in temperatures, but is instead correlated with whatever drives temperatures higher. One contributing factor which causes cooling is clearly volcanic activity.

A recent meeting of the global warming fanatics took an interesting turn. Since the last thing we want is another ice age, and the evidence is that at least for the short term temperatures are going down, these extremists were told they need to proclaim this cooling as man caused, and insist that the world needs to turn over control to them to stop the MAN CAUSED GLOBAL COOLING.

Once again the science is not supportive that man is causing the cooling, but the chicken little extremists are certain they can convince the socialist politicians of the various national governments (including the socialists in America known as Democrats) along with the global socialist proponents in the United Nations that greater government control, with environmentalists guiding the efforts, is the only thing that will prevent a complete and total disaster.

I have only one question. Are you really stupid enough to believe that proven liars and charlatans should be given totalitarian political power to stop a less rational man caused global cooling hypothesis now that their efforts to sell man caused global warming are coming apart?

Nations Will Print Money, Go Bust, Go To War...

... We Are Doomed.

by Andrew Mellon - May 23rd, 2010 - Big Government

Today the leading Austrian economic think tank, the Ludwig von Mises Institute held a conference at the University Club in Manhattan in which Marc Faber, famed contrarian investor and publisher of the “Gloom, Boom and Doom Report” gave his perspective on the financial crisis and his outlook for the future.

Below are his main points and entertaining quotes:

- Central banks will never tighten monetary policy again, merely print, print, print.

That is just the first point. The rest of the list is equally alarming!

Read the article. It is clearly a more realistic look at the most probable outcome for the next few years than the rosy picture that Barack Obama is peddling.

Nuclear bombs in Tel Aviv? Absolutely going to happen unless Israel summons the courage to take out the Iranian nuclear capability like they did with Iraq's when Saddam Hussein was planning the same world takeover that Iran believes they can accomplish.

Best advice in the article. Buy a house in the country side and live as far from America's major population centers as you can. Like Tel Aviv, America's major cities are prime targets for nuclear bombs when the shooting starts.

From An Old-School
Conservative, Advice
For The Tea Party

by Richard A. Viguerie - May 2nd, 2010 - The Washington Post

Back when Barry Goldwater became the first member of the conservative movement to be nominated for president, the movement had just two legs -- free markets and a strong national defense. After religious conservatives became the third leg, conservatives won three landslide presidential elections in the 1980s. But even that was not enough to stop the expansion of government.

The tea party has added a fourth leg -- an emphasis on limiting government through fidelity to the Constitution and our nation's founding principles, without being operationally aligned with either party. With this addition, we conservatives now find ourselves sitting at a large four-legged table and outnumbering liberals by almost two to one in a recent Gallup poll.

The reality is that these four legs have inherent conflicts and not all the 4 components are conservatives. Many are libertarians like Ronald Reagan. If the goal is liberty and freedom for people, to succeed or fail on their own, there are parts of the four legs who will resent government not helping those they want to help. If social conservatives had their way, our government would be as much of a nanny state as if progressives had their way. It would simply be a different set of government dictates than the progressive totalitarian goons would enforce.

I believe an overwhelming concern of the TEA Parties (there are more than one) should be to stay focused on liberty and freedom. We need to convince each of the four legs of libertarian-conservative thought that their wishes must comply with this goal of liberty and individual freedom. That is the only glue that will hold this current 4 legged table together for the long run, and allow us to return to a nation of freedom. Today we are racing towards totalitarian control, and almost certainly national dissolution if the TEA Parties don't prevail.

Still I must admit that the five admonitions of this article are well thought out. I recommend them.

Why Not Stick It To Uncle Sam?

America Is In Retreat, By Design

by
Charles Krauthammer - May 20th, 2010 - Investor's Business Daily

This is not just an America in decline. This is an America in retreat — accepting, ratifying and declaring its decline, and inviting rising powers to fill the vacuum.

Nor is this retreat by inadvertence. This is retreat by design and, indeed, on principle. It's the perfect fulfillment of Obama's adopted Third World narrative of American misdeeds, disrespect and domination from which he has come to redeem us and the world.

It is sad that so many talked about Obama as the "Manchurian Candidate" before his record was clear enough to support the accusation. Now that it is clear, it is hard to make that case as progressives can dismiss the accusation with the attitude that it is "old news" and "already disproved". Actually it was never disproved. It was simply not provable to those who give Obama every benefit of the doubt.

What else has our MSM done but overlook gaffe after gaffe and lie after lie. In every case Obama's naive efforts at foreign policy have been excused with the belief that Obama can do anything and we must not attack him for his highly moral view of the world in which America is the main evil force.

Obama and his followers here in America are about to see what evil is.

North Korea is openly attacking South Korea. Iran and Hezbollah are openly preparing a new offensive against Israel, using Russian missiles protecting the Iranian nuclear facilities with the approval of Obama. Chavez is making noises about invading his neighbors. Civil war is breaking out in Thailand. Second rate power after second rate power is flexing its muscle to invade other nations. No power in the world believes that America will do anything but cower and talk. Obama has made it clear that is his stance in the world.

If blood can run like rivers all over the world and Obama will do nothing, why not stick it to Uncle Sam? Appeasement always ends in war.

H-1B Workers Earn
More Than U.S. Workers

by Don E. Sears - May 15th, 2010 - eWeek

A University of Maryland report claims to dispel the idea that programs such as H-1B visas and foreign workers are cheap sources of labor for American companies. The study finds foreign workers in the United States have actually earned more than U.S. tech professionals. The study's authors, professors Sunil Mithas and Henry Lucas, recently spoke with eWEEK on the implications of wage deltas between the United States and visa workers.

The following question-and-answer interview seeks to get a better understanding of the findings and implications of the recently published report, "Are Foreign IT Workers Cheaper?

The lies about the use of H-1B visas to fill positions for which they claim to otherwise be unable find good American workers is dispelled by lots of compelling evidence. I have anecdotal evidence of that in my own background. On two occasions I was replaced by foreign workers in technical management positions. In both situations the companies had to bring me back multiple times to help the replacements learn how to do the job, jobs for which they were only minimally qualified. On at least one occasion I was brought back over a year later because the company had a problem caused by the replacement and I had to straighten out his mess. My former team of American workers were delighted to have me back for that project. Though I was still available if the company wished, the foreign worker was retained and I was once again allowed to return to a consulting career that was only chosen since companies would no longer hire someone of my age.

I believe that anti American bias, and a desire to create positions for foreign workers who are more subservient are the major driving factors behind the hiring of H-1B visas to replace older middle management. Young American workers who are available for these jobs are told they do not have the experience, and then foreigners with even less experience are given the jobs and acquire the experience. American management sets these goals as strategies without any real concern for the reality of their claims about the unavailability of Americans. The goals become self fulfilling prophesies.

Natural Oil Leaks
Equal To 8–80
Exxon Valdez Spills

Editorial - May 19th, 2010 - InTech Magazine

There is an oil spill everyday at Coal Oil Point (COP), the natural seeps off Santa Barbara, where 20-25 tons of oil have leaked from the seafloor each day for the last several hundred thousand years.

Earlier research by Reddy and Valentine at the site found microbes were capable of degrading a significant portion of the oil molecules as they traveled from the reservoir to the ocean bottom, and that once the oil floated to sea surface, about 10% of the molecules evaporated within minutes.

“One of the natural questions is: What happens to all of this oil?” Valentine said. “So much oil seeps up and floats on the sea surface. It’s something we’ve long wondered. We know some of it will come ashore as tar balls, but it doesn’t stick around. And then there are the massive slicks. You can see them, sometimes extending 20 miles from the seeps. But what really is the ultimate fate?”

Scientists and engineers have understood that the ability of the ocean to absorb large oil spills is one of the reasons that the Santa Barbara and Exxon Valdez spills were both only temporary issues and quickly were overcome by mother nature. Environmental extremists hate this reality. They hate mankind and it causes them tremendous grief that they cannot find the long term damage they predict after these man caused disasters.

The problem is of course that huge quantities of oil seep in to the ocean naturally every day. Much larger quantities than any man made disaster could ever be responsible for. What we should be asking is, why does anyone worry so much about the small man made disasters when it is almost irrelevant in the face of the natural seepage?

China's Private Party

by Richard McGregor - May 15th, 2010 - Wall Street Journal

On the desks of the heads of China's 50-odd biggest state companies, amid the clutter of computers, family photos and other fixtures of the modern CEO's office life, sits a red phone. The executives and their staff who jump to attention when it rings know it as "the red machine," perhaps because to call it a mere phone does not do it justice. "When the 'red machine' rings," a senior executive of a state bank told me, "you had better make sure you answer it."

It is clear that China is becoming a leader in the global socialist movement. They have attained this power by carefully hiding the power of the communist elite within their nation. It is equally clear they see America as their number one enemy. Almost every action they take is either to weaken our nation or increase their control over our nation. Yet little of our government, our defense forces or our press has taken notice.

Part of this is because China has worked very hard to create ties with the elitists in our Universities. They hire them as consultants. They listen to them in their areas of expertise. They have subverted them to the strengthening of China as a way to prove that socialism is a better system than free enterprise.

Iran's Nuclear Coup

Editorial - May 18th, 2010 - Wall Street Journal

What a fiasco. That's the first word that comes to mind watching Mahmoud Ahmadinejad raise his arms yesterday with the leaders of Turkey and Brazil to celebrate a new atomic pact that instantly made irrelevant 16 months of President Obama's "diplomacy." The deal is a political coup for Tehran and possibly delivers the coup de grace to the West's half-hearted efforts to stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb.

Full credit for this debacle goes to the Obama Administration and its hapless diplomatic strategy.

The certainty of this fiasco was predictable. In fact many accomplished American statesmen have predicted it. Unfortunately they don't get noticed because they are conservatives and the press in America hates conservatives.

If you were to check with the average person on the street, President Barack Obama is doing a great job and America is held in high esteem now that George W. Bush is gone. Reality does not agree. All over the world dictators are moving to confront what they see as a gutless and enfeebled America.

Does anyone think North Korea would have sunk a South Korean ship before Obama became President? Israel is more exposed than she has been since 1967, all thanks to the hostility of President Barack Obama. We are looking at war in the middle east, and quite probably nuclear war. Thanks Obama. You are proving to be as disastrous for American interests as anyone could have expected.

US Drug War Has
Met None Of Its Goals

by Martha Mendoza - May 13th, 2010 - Associated Press

After 40 years, the United States' war on drugs has cost $1 trillion and hundreds of thousands of lives, and for what? Drug use is rampant and violence even more brutal and widespread.

Even U.S. drug czar Gil Kerlikowske concedes the strategy hasn't worked.

"In the grand scheme, it has not been successful," Kerlikowske told The Associated Press. "Forty years later, the concern about drugs and drug problems is, if anything, magnified, intensified."

The article also quotes one of the supporters of the drug war with their constant mantra about criticism, "It destroys everything we've done. It's saying all the people involved in law enforcement, treatment and prevention have been wasting their time. It's saying all these people's work is misguided."

Yes. That is correct. Good intentions do not equate to results. All the good intentions of the people who support the war on drugs does not alter that the consequences have not just been useless. They have been evil.

You cannot reduce the prevalence of a vice by increasing the profits. The more you attack drugs and other vices, the more profitable you make it, and the harder it is to control. Don't want your kids to take drugs? Do not make the profits so high that the drug dealers will set up on the corners next to schools because you have made risk worth it.

Prohibition should have taught us something. It did not. Well intentioned idiots continue to insist that their good intentions must trump sanity. It doesn't. It won't. It never will.

Guilty No Matter The Intent

Editorial - May 9th, 2010 - Washington Examiner

In May of 2004, federal agents in a black sport utility vehicle ran Krister Evertson off the road, piled out of their vehicle in full SWAT gear, trained an automatic weapon at his head, and arrested him. Evertson's crime? He failed to put a federally mandated sticker on a UPS package. A jury acquitted Evertson of the charges, but the feds later charged Evertson for "abandoning" hazardous material. Evertson is an award-winning scientist working on fuel-cell technology, and the chemicals were both properly stored and necessary for his work. Nonetheless, he spent 21 months in federal prison.

Chances are that you, too, could become a federal criminal like Evertson.

Government bureaucrats are the evil consequence of the statist mentality of both Democrats and moderate Republicans. They think the state is a fine solution for any problem they perceive. No matter how many times the unintended consequences of a law destroys the lives of innocent citizens, the statists cannot see the evil. They only see their arrogant self righteous belief they can tell people how to live their lives and do a much better job at that than the individual.

The hatred of this government domination and the desire for freedom is behind the huge growth of the TEA Parties, at least from the perspective of TEA Party members. Yet liberals (or progressives - whatever they call themselves this week) cannot conceive how their good intentions can be so misunderstood. They know they are "good" people. They know they have "good" intentions. They know that their government dictates are "good" for people. So they reject the unintended consequences they cause as not being something they can or should be held accountable for. In fact they go even further. They are angry and outraged that anyone doubts their sincerity. That means the TEA Parties must be evil. So they hate the TEA Parties and its supporters with a passion that is unbelievable.

Incarcerated 21 months for no reason other than the incompetence of a law? This is not how America is supposed to work. I read this article and I want to tear some liberal into pieces for the evil they have inflicted on an innocent citizen. They read this article and are simply indifferent to the evil they have caused. Two different perspectives which are at the heart of our nation's current conflicts.

Julius Caesar Of The Internet

Editorial - May 8th, 2010 - Wall Street Journal

A federal appeals court ruled last month that the Federal Communications Commission lacks the authority to regulate the Internet. No worries, mate. This week the Obama Administration chose to "reclassify" the Internet so it can regulate the Web anyway.

Power. There is nothing that Obama will not do to seize power. If the courts rule against him, he simply ignores them. If the people vote against him, he ignores them. Why is it that so few people are as paranoid as I am that the elections in November will not slow this radical extremist's rampage to socialism?

Walter Hickel Dies At 90

by Mark Thiessen - May 8th, 2010 - Associated Press

Former Alaska Gov. Walter J. Hickel, who served as Interior secretary under President Nixon until he was dismissed for objecting to the treatment of Vietnam War protesters, has died at age 90.

The two-time Alaskan governor died Friday of natural causes at an Anchorage assisted living facility, said longtime Hickel assistant Malcolm Roberts

Gov. Sean Parnell ordered state flags flown at half-staff Saturday in honor of his predecessor.

"He taught us to dream big and to stand up for Alaska," Gov. Parnell said. "Governor Hickel will be remembered for many things — for his wit, for telling it like it is, and for always reminding us that our resources belong to Alaskans."

Hickel was fired from his Interior post in late 1970, after sending Nixon a letter critical of his handling of student protests following the National Guard shootings at Kent State

There is sometimes a union of events that seems almost cosmic. Certainly the death of Walter Hickel at this moment can be seen in that light.

A strong supporter of developing Alaska's natural resources, he still vigorously pursued Exxon to repay for the damage from their large oil spill. That of course is all in the news due to the recent BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Also recently there was a new leak over the concealed evidence about the Kent State shootings. James Rosen wrote an article in the Washington Post titled
"New light shed on Kent State killings". The long suppressed evidence that the Kent State uprising was a planned effort, despite attempts by authorities to deny that truth, garnered almost instant condemnation from the same liberal forces that insisted at the time they never shot at the National Guard. There is strong evidence they did.

Despite his strong environmental record, Hickel was constantly berated by the environmental movement for daring to support development of natural resources. However his opposition to Nixon made him a darling of the left.

These two issues are not his only claims to fame, but it is curious that both are in the news again at the time of his death.

Manipulation, Not Error,
Behind Market Plunge

by Cliff Kincaid - May 7th, 2010 - Accuracy In Media

The major media say the chaos on Wall Street was the result of a "trader error, possibly a typo," as the Washington Post put it. Some reports claim the culprit was a "fat finger" on a computer somewhere that pressed the wrong key. But Zubi Diamond, author of the Wizards of Wall Street, says these claims are all lies. "What happened in the market on Thursday is a typical example of pure market manipulation" by unregulated hedge fund short sellers.

The name to remember from this article is the Managed Funds Association (MFA). This group, representing manipulators like George Soros, has taken advantage of the current ignorant rules of investing that have allowed short sellers to sabotage the concept of investing to fund our free enterprise economy. Wall Street used to have value when it funded business. Today it is simply a fraudulent gambling enterprise.

We used to have rules against corrupt practices blocked by the uptick rule and required circuit breakers and trading curbs to prohibit manipulation. However these safeguards have all been repealed. The resulting manipulation is the process behind the new term "crony capitalism". That has become the technique by which pro-socialist forces are destroying our nation's economy.

It is the same process by which Soros and his cronies manipulated our economy and suckered the naive George W. Bush into supporting the stupid bailouts of 2008. We need some Republicans who are not ignorant of business and investing to alter their current naive support for Wall Street. It really ought to be clear to gullible Republican leadership that Wall Street is not giving most of their campaign contributions to Democrats because they think Democrats support capitalism.

Wall Street has become a scam.

Man Who Predicted 2008 Financial Crisis Says...

... Today's Sell-off Is 'Just The Next Stage'

by Noel Sheppard - May 6th, 2010 - NewsBusters

The man who predicted the bursting of the housing bubble as well as 2008's economic collapse says that what happened in the markets around the world today is just the next stage in the financial crisis.

"The first stage was this massive re-leveraging of the private sector that led to the financial crisis [of 2008] and which has responded now with a massive re-leveraging of public sectors with budget deficits of the order of 10 percent," Nouriel Roubini [aka Dr. Doom] told CNBC's Maria Bartiromo.

"So I think that the markets are realizing that we have socialized a lot of the private losses with unsustainable fiscal deficits."

As pessimistic as I have become, I pray that both Nouriel Roubini and I are both wrong. Yet I can see nothing that would indicate we are. Until America and Americans become committed once again to the idea of individual freedom, and individual responsibility, we are looking at one of those frequent periods in man's existence when life is going to be very very tough for the average man on the street.

Jobs Up 290,000;
Jobless Rate Rises To 9.9%

by Jeannine Aversa - May 7th, 2010 - Associated Press

More confident employers stepped up job creation in April, expanding payrolls by 290,000, the most in four years. The jobless rate rose to 9.9 percent as people streamed back into the market looking for work.

If you had any doubt that the unemployment rate touted by our government is a farcical game, this one article should put that to rest. Actual unemployment has been over 15% for some time. The government simply pretends that you are not unemployed if you have not met certain criteria about how you look for work.

Unemployment is NOT 9.9%.

Unemployment is STILL over 15%.

With the coming inflation and the probability of another dip in the recession, that real unemployment rate is more likely to go up than down, no matter what lies the government promotes.

The Dollar's Inevitable Demise

by Vasko Kohlmayer - May 4th, 2010 - American Thinker

Consider these figures. The current size of the American economy is roughly $14 trillion. As of this writing, the federal government's total public debt stands at nearly $13 trillion.

[Snip]

This, however, is not the worst of it, because the national debt represents only a relatively small portion of our government's total financial obligations. The far greater bulk is made up of long-term liabilities inherent in entitlement programs. According to the latest estimates by the Dallas Federal Reserve, the combined liabilities of Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid amount to an astounding $104 trillion.

Think that the recent (unadjusted) government claim that our economy grew 3.2% last month is anything but an irrelevant illusion? The recent 2% spike in inflation, downplayed by the Obama regime while it hypes the growth figure, is just the beginning. Nothing can stop the coming rampant inflation. Obama does not have a clue about economic issues. He is a naive and ignorant "community organizer" who is in so far over his head he cannot conceive of the damage he is doing to our nation.

Palin And The Leftist Elites

by Mark W. Hendrickson - May 4th, 2010 - American Thinker

We can draw insights about Palin's significance in America today from a trio of three markedly disparate historical figures: Ronald Reagan, the late Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises, and the Gospel of Matthew's King Herod. The connection between Sarah Palin and Ronald Reagan is fairly simple and straightforward. They share conservative convictions and a special gift of communication. Palin is reminiscent of Reagan in the way she resonates, inspires, and energizes conservatives.

Less apparent are the links that may be drawn between Palin and the long-departed Austrian economist Ludwig von Mises -- and Palin and the much-longer-ago-departed King Herod.

This is good. Mark Hendrickson has provided a simple set of analogies and tied them together with clear logic to explain the hatred of Sarah Palin. I am intrigued by his use of Herod to describe the desire to stop Palin. The need by the anointed to destroy anyone who disagrees with them early on before they can gain popularity and momentum is certainly similar in motivation to Herod's desire to kill as a child anyone who might threaten him as king.

Almost A Thousand
Major Scientists Dissent
From Darwin!

by Dr. Don Boys - May 2nd, 2010 - Canada Free Press

A major storm of protest against the myth of evolution has been building for many years, as proved by almost a thousand major scientists, all with doctorates who have signed on to the following statement as of 2010: “We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged.”

Those scientists threw down the gauntlet to evolutionists by publishing a two-page ad in a national magazine with the heading, “A Scientific Dissent From Darwinism.”

This is an interesting article that summarizes the major scientific obstacles to the concept that variation creating one species from another is possible through the limited process called evolution. Theoretically evolution can create one species from another. In actuality, this has not been proved or shown to have ever happened. Until this is successfully proved, the question must be asked, what created the vast differences between all the species?

The only thing that evolution has ever been proven to accomplish is variation within a species. Those variations can be dramatic in terms of size and color and utilization of physical attributes. However no fish has evern become a mammal, no bird become an insect, etc.

All basic species appeared nearly simultaneously during what is referred to as the Cambrian explosion. If evolution did not produce the tremendous array of different species, what did?

Buchanan to Obama

by Pat Buchanan - February 4th, 2010 - Red County

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving ' white kids?

Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

This article is a little dated. The first time I read it I was not sure whether it was the best response to Obama's racist attitudes. However with Obama's recent racist exhortation for Blacks and Hispanics to get involved in November and defeat Republicans, I decided it did not matter.

If you are white and not ready to give everything you have to blacks for the guilt blacks think you should feel about transgressions by other whites from 100 years ago, it is time to stop tolerating the constant racist insults of the black superiority culture that is emerging.

Playing Not to Lose Doesn't Cut It

by Arnold Ahlert - May 3rd, 2010 - Jewish World Review

I'd like to have a nickel for every football team who lost a game they were winning because they switched to a "prevent defense," at the end. There is a huge difference between playing to win and playing not to lose. Too bad the Republican Party can't make the distinction.

2010 is looking like a wipeout for Democrats — one completely of their own making. Four years of a Democratically-controlled Congress, coupled with two years of the most radically leftist administration in the history of the republic have scared the hell out of Americans who now know what unbridled progressivism looks like.

Excellent summation of the issues on which there is a real difference between libertarian-conservatives and the progressives of the radical left. The list of issues on which this coming campaign should be fought is a nearly perfect summation, at least as far as I am concerned. Will Republicans get it? I guess we will see.

Sarah Palin Is On A Roll

by Ted Belman - May 3rd, 2010 - American Thinker

Since resigning from her governorship last July, Sarah Palin hasn't made a false move. This is surprising for someone who is more passionate than cautious and one reputed to be...well, you know, a dummy.

If there is any single politician who gives hope to those who see America headed on a wrong track, it is the eternally optimistic Sarah Palin. As noted in this article, she doesn't waffle, is not afflicted with the typical Republican mealy mouth fence straddling, and is totally America First.

When did it become so politically incorrect to love our nation?

When did it become unacceptable to believe in free enterprise?

When did it become acceptable to apologize to those we have defeated?

When did it become acceptable to tout racist messages as long as they are anti white?

Barack Obama is a typical Democrat. That means he hates American exceptionalism, loves the failed system called socialism, desires to destroy American strength and is racist to his core. How did this second rate radical left wing extremist ever get elected? Is Obama really what America has come to admire?

What Arizona Must Live With

by Mark Steyn - May 1, 2010 - National Review

As I write, I have my papers on me — and not just because I’m in Arizona. I’m an immigrant, and it is a condition of my admission to this great land that I carry documentary proof of my residency status with me at all times and be prepared to produce it to law-enforcement officials, whether on a business trip to Tucson or taking a 20-minute stroll in the woods back at my pad in New Hampshire.

Who would impose such an outrageous Nazi fascist discriminatory law?

Er, well, that would be Franklin Roosevelt.

The end of this article notes that immigration policy in America, as dictated by liberal judges and their desired subversion of American exceptionalism, now guarantees that our future will be one of Hispanic dominance. Unlike America, the illegal invaders (and their liberal promoters) will demand a single language here, just as they have in Mexico. That single language will be Spanish though.

You see the illegal invaders are not outraged that we want to speak a single language. They are outraged that they do not get to chose that single language and make it Spanish. So get used to it. Republicans who are opposed to this new immigration bill have simply conceded that America is lost. They are politicians who want to get elected and they don't care who votes for them as long as they are on top. America? Screw America. That is not just the attitude of Democrats but a lot of gutless Republicans as well.

Why is illegal such a difficult concept for these people?

If I Could Live Like The Environmentalists...

by Mary Katherine Ham - April 30th, 2010

Harrison Ford owns seven airplanes, but only flies "one at a time." For environmentalist critics who say this is a contradiction, he has this message:

"I’ll start walking everywhere when they start walking everywhere.”

Ed Begley's coming for him! But really slowly, on a bicycle, so he doesn't have that much to worry about.

Hypocrisy is really strange. Self righteousness even stranger.
