Bankers To Obama:
Stop Trashing Us

by February 27th, 2009 - Politico

In his unofficial State of the Union address Tuesday night, Barack Obama said that it's "unpopular ... to be seen as helping banks right now, especially when everyone is suffering in part from their bad decisions."

In a letter to the White House, ABA CEO Edward Yingling says bankers across the country were "disappointed and concerned" with rhetoric like that.

"Mr. President, of the over 8,000 banks in this country, very few ever made a single subprime loan, and they did not engage in the highly leveraged activities that brought down Wall Street firms," Yingling said.

A serious part of the confusion that has left so many Americas deluded about who is to blame for our current crisis is not understanding the difference between what have come to be called "investment banks" (actually stock brokers) versus traditional banks. Though it is sad so few Americans understand the difference, it is cataclysmic that our President is ignorant of the difference.

Obama Declares War on Investors, Entrepreneurs, Businesses,
And More

by Larry Kudlow - February 27th, 2009 - CNBC TV

Let me be very clear on the economics of President Obama’s State of the Union speech and his budget.

He is declaring war on investors, entrepreneurs, small businesses, large corporations, and private-equity and venture-capital funds.

That is the meaning of his anti-growth tax-hike proposals, which make absolutely no sense at all — either for this recession or from the standpoint of expanding our economy’s long-run potential to grow.

Wall Street is in love with crony capitalism, where big government and big business make a deal to stomp out small business. The huge profits of the "Clinton" boom whetted the appetite of many (and the bust seemed not to change their minds). They acquired an illusion that free enterprise could be morphed into a phony form of corporate socialism where small businesses were bought up to eliminate competition and then huge profits from the resultant monopolies would flow into the pockets of Wall Street.

Derivatives and credit default swaps and collateralized mortgage obligations and various other scams were invented to delude the "rubes" out here in America while the "hedge fund" masters scooped up all the profits and lived like kings. As a result there was a great deal of enthusiasm for Barack Obama among those on Wall Street who thought that the glory days of the 90s would return if they put a Democrat back into the Presidency.

That illusion is coming to an end. Crony capitalism is not the goal of the socialists who back Obama. They hold the Clinton form of crony capitalism in as much contempt as they hold for free enterprise. Obama is an Alinsky disciple and he holds the middle class in as much contempt as he holds the rich. In fact, he sees the middle class as the rubes he has to deceive into supporting him to accomplish his huge remake of American society.

If you have a 401k, it is at risk from Obama from two sources. Destroying its value through the collapse of free enterprise and taking its value through higher taxes.

Obama and his socialist cohorts are at war with free enterprise. I would say America should wake up, but I am concerned it is already too late.

Obama, The Egomaniac

The Return of Big Government
For Obama, a spending spree and fiscal prudence are synonymous

by Fred Barnes - March 9th, 2009 (Publication date - posting date 2/28) - The Weekly Standard

When Barack Obama met with TV anchors at a White House lunch last week, he assured them he likes being president. "And it turns out I'm very good at it," he added.

[snip]

Obama declared a "consensus" was emerging between Democrats and Republicans on some issues--his issues--and could be forged on others. He was dreaming.

Can a man who has never accomplished anything of significance in his life truly think that getting one bill passed when he has an overwhelming political advantage in congress, really mean that he is good at being President? He is hated by 30% of Americans, and is being given a short honeymoon by another 20%, and he thinks this means anything yet? He steamrolled his bill through with no votes to spare, and this makes him good at being President? What?

There is a great quote by Irwin M. Stelzer describing our new President, "... a man who can one day sign a bill calling for $787 billion in stimulus spending, the next day commit ... $275 billion to mortgage relief, and then convene a national conference on fiscal responsibility--followed almost instantly by a speech to Congress calling for massive spending on health care, education, and green energy, among other things--is not to be held to any standard of consistency ... "

Or reality either it would appear.

ROTFL

Comandante Obama

The president has made America look like a banana republic

by Peter Robinson - February 27th, 2009 - Forbes

The emergence of misrule, corruption and economic stagnation in Latin American nations follows a particular sequence or progression. Now the sequence was unfolding in the United States.

[snip]

[The sequence?] A cult of personality, nationalization and censorship.

If you doubt that we are well on our way to this disaster right here in America, read this article. It will probably leave you as depressed as I have become at the insanity of the greatest nation on earth throwing away everything that makes us great ... just because 52% of our nation thinks socialism "has never been tried".

I am sick of hearing this idiocy. Socialism has been tried and it always fails. It will fail here as well. What we are giving up may never be recovered.

Aiding the Bottom 10%

... A Recipe for Economic Decline

by John Tamny - February 26, 2009 - Real Clear Markets

In the aftermath of the Korean War, North Korea imposed the notion of “songbun” on its citizenry. The poor and shiftless for being poor and shiftless had “good” songbun, and today they are the privileged class for having failed most impressively. The successful in North Korea were demonized for being that way [they had "bad" songbun], and today they are the bottom caste in a society that has committed economic suicide right before our eyes.

So while it’s surely a reach to suggest the U.S. is going the way of North Korea, it’s also true that bad policy has a way of slowly wrecking societies over time. At present, with the federal government creating incentives whereby companies will be rewarded by the tax code for not laying off unproductive employees, and just the same where irresponsible homebuyers are being sanctified for being irresponsible, the U.S. political class is imposing its own, minor form of songbun; these actions signaling our nation’s long-term economic decline.

I think the author should have more confidence in the point that he is making. I think that America is, without question, headed down the road to economic disaster that Korea has pioneered. After making a powerful point he sums up with the waffling "surely it is a stretch to suggest the U.S. is going the way of North Korea". I think it is a stretch to suggest that the history of failed societies that have adopted socialism is not proof beyond doubt of the certain consequences of our doing so. It is those who want to say the situation is bad but not catastrophic who are the major contributors to the problem. Failure is not a "stretch" at all. It is a certainty.

Obama and his socialist supporters are an evil that will come back to haunt those who refuse to see how serious a problem they are creating. We are headed to disaster.

Where Have You Gone, Bill Casey?

"We win and they lose."
- Ronald Reagan, January 1977

by - February 26th, 2009 - American Thinker

As I arrived at [Herb] Meyer's room to pick him up, I was greeted by a genial, pleasant man who was worked up over what he was watching on television. Meyer [right-hand man to President Reagan's CIA director, Bill Casey] was enduring C-SPAN's coverage of [Leon] Panetta's confirmation hearings for CIA director. Something really insidious was on display at those hearings: a curious consensus that if American intelligence -- God forbid -- knew there was a ticking bomb in a major city, and had in possession the terrorist who knew the bomb's location, that it would be wrong to "torture" the suspect to disclose the location.

This is where the unceasing hatred of George W. Bush has finally brought us: bloody irrationality.

What concerns me even more is that the 52% of the American voters who put Barack Obama, the Magic Marxist Messiah, into power, would unquestionably agree that the nuclear holocaust which resulted from letting that bomb explode would be Bush's and the Republican's fault. After seven years of unceasing vitriolic lies, Bush is the great Satan and half our population accept that EVERYTHING is his fault. All Republicans are smeared with that same guilt.

This is a great article that accurately explains how America came to be guided by a man who believed in the source of our greatness. Ronald Reagan believed we could win against the evil empire and went on to actually put in place the forces that secured that victory. To this day, Democrats deny that Reagan won the cold war. They argued at that time that we could not win. After it was clear we HAD won, they insisted the collapse of the Soviet Union had nothing to do with Reagan.

This article makes it clear, we DID win and Reagan's was the guiding hand.

Who will guide us to victory against the Islamo-fascists? Not the global socialists of the Obama regime.

Obama ... LIED!

Obama told Idahoans he wouldn't take away their guns.

He lied.

by Clayton Cramer - February 22nd, 2009 - Idaho Statesman

Remember back in February 2008 when President Obama came to Boise and spoke at a big rally? He made a big point of saying, "I won't take away your guns," because those nasty, dishonest Republicans were saying that Obama was going to do that.

It sure didn't take long for Obama to reveal his intentions. The afternoon of the inauguration, the White House Web site's Urban Policy page admitted ... "Obama also favor[s] ... making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent."

[snip]

The assault weapons ban, however, is clearly an attempt to take away guns. It is not an attempt to keep guns out of the hands of criminals; convicted felons can't legally possess a gun or ammunition. It is an attempt to disarm law-abiding adults of the one category of firearm most clearly protected by the Second Amendment - those that would be suitable for overthrowing a tyrannical government.

The only lesson that should have been learned by American citizens about Barack Obama is the one lesson that no one seems to have paid any attention to. Barack Obama trained ACORN socialist community organizers-agitators on the need to follow Alinsky. That philosophy teaches that you must lie to the people to hide your true intentions. Deceit and duplicity are the tools of Alinsky. Smearing your opposition with lies and constant attacks. Also the technique of setting up a straw man position for your opposition, attributing the most evil intentions with no support for the claims. Barack Obama is the master of these tools as he proved with his "state of the union message".

This is proved by the article here covering his new Attorney General promising to get this gun ban passed "very soon".

When will that lesson on deceit sink in to the idiots who support Obama? He lies with the poise of a master con artist.

It’s Obama Spreading Panic

by Dick Morris - February 24th, 2009 - The Hill

Ultimately, all recessions and depressions resolve themselves into crises of confidence. The instant, global, 24/7 communications of today make them ever more so. President Obama, in his pursuit of liberal big-government spending, has totally neglected the role of the president of the United States in reversing global panic. To the contrary, his every remark and the constant preoccupation of his Cabinet is to heighten the sense of crisis and to escalate the predictions of doom if we do not do as they tell us and raise spending now and taxes later.

[snip]

So, having inherited a recession, his words are creating a depression. He entered office amid a disaster and he is transforming it into a catastrophe, all to pass every last bit of government spending and move us a bit further to the left before his political capital dwindles.

But the jig will be up soon. The crash of the stock market in the days since he took power (indeed, from the moment he won the election) can increasingly be attributed to his own failure to lead us in the right direction, his failed policies in addressing the recession and his own spreading of panic and fear. The market collapse makes it evident that it is Obama who is the problem ...

Still and all, though it is the Magic Marxist Messiah who is leading us into a depression, it was 52% of the American people who knowingly chose socialism over freedom who bear the ulimtate respnosibility for this growing catastrophe.

Not a War President

by William Kristol - February 24th, 2009 - The Washington Post

You’d never know from the one-sentence discussion of Afghanistan that just last week the president had ordered an additional 17,000 troops there. Obama doesn’t seem to think his responsibility as commander in chief is in any way special. He certainly felt no responsibility even to begin to educate the public about this theater to which he’s committing additional American soldiers.

Instead, both the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were treated as sideshows to “a new era of engagement” that Obama claims has begun. The only particular place mentioned by Obama, in addition to Iraq and Afghanistan/Pakistan, was Israel: “To seek progress toward a secure and lasting peace between Israel and her neighbors, we have appointed an envoy to sustain our effort.” The Israeli-Arab dispute and its envoy merits a mention. Yet Iran and its nuclear program does not?

Democrats, including Obama, still do not see the war against the Islamo-fascists, in Iraq, Afghanistan and Israel ... everywhere around the world, as a single war. To them, each battlefield is an isolated issue to be dealt with individually. It is unlikely they will ever change this attitude, right up until the nuclear bombs start going off in American cities. Since one of the first cities that will see a nuclear bomb is Washington, D.C., I wonder what Obama will say to that incident, assuming he, his wife and two children are not among the casualties?

Repeal Health Care Fascism

by Peter Ferrara - February 25th, 2009 - American Spectator

Buried in Barack Obama's so-called stimulus bill is funding for a bureaucratic structure for the government to begin rationing the health care of the American people. A centralized government bureaucracy would be established that would ultimately have the power to decide what health care you can have, and when, especially when it involves highly expensive, advanced medical care for the seriously ill. Unless this is stopped, many of you reading this article right now will one day suffer death-by-liberalism, when the government bureaucracy decides that the health care you need is not worth the cost, or puts you in a waiting line where death will arrive before treatment.

Sanctimonious bureaucrats are the most evil power in the world. Barack Obama wants to turn your health care and the health care of your family and loved ones over to the same bureaucrats who have repeatedly destroyed lives in earlier well know incidents. It is NOT anecdotal evidence when it is YOU the bureaucrat is destroying.

Americans must wake up before we live in the same overwhelmingly corrupt state as the Soviet Union experienced before its collapse.

Consumer Confidence
Hits Record Low

by Staff - February 24th, 2009 - Reuters

Consumer confidence plunged to another record low in February with expectations that already dire economic conditions will continue to weaken and the jobs market will further deteriorate.

The Conference Board, an industry group, said on Tuesday that its sentiment index fell to 25.0 from a downwardly revised 37.4 in January. The median forecast of economists polled by Reuters was for a reading of 35.5.

The February reading was a new all time low for the index, which began in 1967.

Not since the Vietnam War was tearing our nation apart, with weekly violent protests on every campus and in every city, has America been this negative on the future. Democrats are trying to say this too is Bush's fault, yet it is clear that confidence did not really take a dive until the nation got a good look at the socialist agenda of the Obama regime.

Despair Sets In With
America On A Fatal Arc

by Thomas Sowell - February 23rd, 2009 - Investor's Business Daily

An increasing number of recent letters and e-mails from readers strike a note, not only of unhappiness with the way things are going in our society, but a note of despair.

Those of us who are pessimists are only a step away from despair ourselves, so we may not be the ones to offer the best antidote to the view that America has seen its best days and is degenerating toward what may well be its worst. Yet what hope remains is no less precious nor any less worthy of being preserved.

First of all, the day-to-day life of most Americans in these times is nowhere near as dire as that of the band of cold, ragged and hungry men who gathered around George Washington in the winter at Valley Forge, to which they had been driven by defeat after defeat.

Only the most reckless gambler would have bet on them to win. Only an optimist would have expected them to survive.

Pretty positive article by someone who sees themself as a pessimist. With my recent depression, maybe I should listen to the man I still think is the smartest man in America.

End Of The American Dream

by Star Parker - February 23rd, 2009 - Townhall.com

In one short month, the Obama administration has committed us taxpayers to new obligations equal to what the whole federal budget was a couple years ago [under Republicans].

Beyond any liberal Democrat's wildest dreams, this unprecedented government-spending binge, has been enabled by a narrative. According to this narrative, we now understand that unbridled capitalism doesn't work. Unregulated markets are behind today's problems and all agree that we need more government.

According to our president, because "Big banks traded in risky mortgages ... lenders took advantage of homebuyers ... homebuyers knowingly borrowed too much ..." we have today's housing crisis.

But it's all so untrue. [emphasis added]

What has failed in our country is not capitalism. It is our intentional undermining of it.

Star Parker is becoming one of the leading writers to puncture the lies of the Obama regime. Certainly the history she provides here is an important addition to the public dialog about our coming disasters. Her title is sad but true. We are watching Obama dismantle the American Dream.

Race High On Agenda Of
Holder's (And Obama's)
Justice Department

by Leslie Fulbright - February 23rd, 2009 - San Francisco Chronicle

President Obama declined to make race a central theme of his campaign, but the man he tapped as the country's top law enforcement officer is making it clear that race relations will be a priority.

In a speech last week, Attorney General Eric Holder called America a "nation of cowards" when it comes to discussing race, a statement applauded by civil rights leaders.

Of course they would. The race mongers have their stealth candidate of hate and division, and they realize that they can jam the agenda of this 13% minority down the throats of all America for the next few years. We were told repeatedly that Obama was the post-racial candidate. Some people who were familiar with the deceit and duplicity which is a standard part of the Alinsky method, insisted that an Alinsky acolyte like Obama was not likely to be as post-racial as he claimed. It is looking more and more like Obama is the stealth racist those who understood Alinsky's influence on Obama feared he was.

An alternative theory has been provided by J.R. Dunn: "I wonder if Obama grasps that, on some level, this [action by Holder] is a blow aimed against him personally, in his persona of the man who embodies racial reconciliation?"

Anyone else think Obama is being sabotaged by his new Attorney General?

Fox "War Games" The Coming Civil War

by Glenn Greenwald - February 22nd, 2009 - Salon

Bill Clinton's election in 1992 gave rise to the American "militia movement": hordes of overwhelmingly white, middle-aged men from suburban and rural areas who convinced themselves they were defending the American way of life from the "liberals" and "leftists" running the country by dressing up in military costumes on weekends, wobbling around together with guns, and play-acting the role of patriot-warriors. Those theater groups -- the cultural precursor to George Bush's prancing 2003 performance dressed in a fighter pilot outfit on Mission Accomplished Day -- spawned the decade of the so-called "Angry White Male," the movement behind the 1994 takeover of the U.S. Congress by Newt Gingrich and his band of federal-government-cursing, pseudo-revolutionary, play-acting tough guys.

Love the sarcasm and ridicule. If you want to see what serves for standard anti white male rhetoric on the left wing web sites, sans profanity and perversion, this is an excellent example.

Want to read a few of the bizarre lies the left wing radicals have come to believe? Here are a few from this one short article:

"Even as Bush seized and used ... tyrannical and unconstitutional -- limitless, unchecked surveillance activities, detention powers with no oversight, expanding federal police powers, secret prison camps ... impenetrable federal government secrecy and comprehensive domestic spying databases conducted in the dark and against the law ... warrantless eavesdropping on Americans in violation of the law ... motivated by fear of losing its cultural and demographic supremacy ... disturbingly ugly atmosphere that marked virtually every Sarah Palin rally ... her fear-mongering cultural warnings ... resonated so stingingly with the rabid lynch mobs that cheered her on ... pure, illustrative derangement ... given rise to the endless corruption, deceit, lawbreaking, destruction, and outright thievery of the last eight years ... all of this drooling rage is nothing more than the familiar face of extreme right-wing paranoia ... "

By the way, this author is the same person who is convinced that Obama has failed to stop the persecution of the "innocent victims" held in Guantanamo, with agonizing concern expressed in his article "Was Binyam Mohamed brutalized at Guantanamo in the last month?" These left wing radicals want the war against Islamo-fascism ended now and America rendered impotent by disbanding our military!

These are the people who were the early enthusiastic supporters for Barack Obama. The MSM has cleaned up their fanatical attacks against all Republicans, but the essence of their charges is repeated. The Alinsky style smearing of Palin, Gingrich, Bush, Limbaugh, Coulter and every other conservative or libertarian who dares disagree with them, proves their tactics have not changed and their hate has not lessened.

It is unfortunate that so few Americans realized these radical extremists are the core of Obama support. If that truth was better known, perhaps the illusion of his being "moderate" would not have gained so much credibility.

Hating Whitey

by Selwyn Duke - February 22nd, 2009 - American Thinker

It is not correct to say that history textbooks, documentaries and entertainment inundate us with stories about slavery and civil rights abuses; no, they inundate us with stories about whites' practice of slavery and abuse of civil rights. There are Hollywood movies such as "Roots" and "Mississippi Burning" but none of note about the Aztecs' or Shaka Zulu's domination of neighboring peoples, or the current African slave trade or Zimbabwean "president" Robert Mugabe's persecution of whites and political opponents. Then, relating the American history guidelines of a prominent textbook publisher, the author of The Language Police, Diane Ravitch, writes:

"European Americans, the guidelines suggest, were uniquely responsible for bigotry and exploitation in all human history."

This philosophy imbues school textbooks. While featured prominently are the sins of whites, others' sins are whitewashed.

There is already growing resentment by white males at the constant insults they have to endure in school. Since all minorities, including women, can castigate white males with impunity, two futures are possible. White males will soon experience serious discrimination. Or white males will fight back and make their persecutors pay.

None of the liberals, black, brown or even white, who are at the lead in denigrating whites have any expectation that the second is possible. They are sure that they are winning the battle of making whites the inferior race and they are smug about it.

This is a well reasoned article that discusses some of the consequences for a continuation of this racist practice.

Obama Wants To Halve Budget Deficit

by Liz Sidoti - February 21st, 2009 - Associated Press (Yahoo)

Barack Obama wants to cut the federal deficit in half by the end of his first term, mostly by scaling back Iraq war spending, raising taxes on the wealthiest and streamlining government, an administration official said Saturday as the president worked to finalize his first budget request.

Sure he does! We are all gullible enough to believe that. The Alinsky disciple, who makes it clear you must never let people guess what you really plan to do, who teaches that you should use deceit to hide your real plans, and who thinks that lying to gain democratic votes from gullible people who will be damaged by what you really plan but vote for you anyway, is telling us honestly what he plans to do years from now. Who would doubt his sincerity?

Plus, has anyone noticed that after his new stimulus bill is added, cutting the deficit in half would mean the deficit would still be the highest in history except this year? ROTFL

We are overloaded with short term problems. One of them is that we are in a war with Islamo-fascists and Barack Obama thinks he can talk these people out of wanting us destroyed. Certainly he does not want to take on that little task next. No, a much better plan for him is to talk about his goals for the long term future. Let us all just ignore reality and muse about what he truly plans to do long term. Our enemies will be delighted.

Pay your taxes or go to prison! Only my cabinet gets to ignore the tax laws.

The only thing in his plan you can believe is that he will tax the most productive members of our society to provide welfare for minorities. That has been his motivation since he was a community agitator.

The Foreclosure Five

A National Crisis? Hardly. The Rest Of Us Are Paying For The Irresponsibility Of A Few States

by Alan Reynolds - February 21st, 2009 - New York Post

The beneficiaries of taxpayer charity will be highly concentrated in just five states - California, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and Michigan. That is not because the subsidized homeowners are poor (Californians with $700,000 mortgages are not poor), but because they took on too much debt, often by refinancing in risky ways to "cash out" thousands more than the original loan. Nearly all subprime loans were for refinancing, not buying a home.

Doesn't match with the concept that this is a nationwide crisis, does it?

Since it isn't, what makes these panic stricken liberal legislators so determined to tax the average American to stop a crisis that is localized to a few states? Simple. The huge banks that made these loans are their biggest contributors. Just check out Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Rangel, Franks, etc and on and on. All are big recipients of Investment Bank contributions.

More than 30 states have had no drop in real estate prices. Only 4 states, all a part of The Foreclosure Five, had drops in double digits. Nevada has been a disaster, but then that is where more real estate speculation went on than any other state. Who is surprised that their prices plummeted after the artificial bubble drove them to huge heights. Even there, all you have to do is compare with prices from five years ago and home owners are ahead.

Why is Barack Obama bailing out Nevada? Simple. He needed a crisis and this home loan bubble in a few states bursting gave him one, if you don't look too close at reality.

Boosting the Obama team's selective mortgage subsidies, Mark Zandi of Moody's Economy.com recently told NBC, "either you can help your neighbor, and help them so they can stay in their home. Or don't help them, and they'll lose their home, and it will cost you money, because . . . your home will have just dropped in value." On the contrary, federal subsidies for over-indebted homeowners will not often involve helping "neighbors" but rather those who live thousands of miles away, mainly in just five states.

Barack Obama and the Democrats are lying, and they know they are lying. This whole mortgage crisis is a Democrat created mess that the free market was already fixing before the chicken little Democrats started screaming "crisis". Few Republicans beside the inarticulate retard George W. Bush bought the crisis idea. However they have now caused a crisis with their waste of taxpayer money. The bailout was planned for and is intended to protect Democrat contributors, along with create a socialist empire after Republicans are demonized. Democrats are lying to make their gullible supporters think they are concerned for them. It is a lie.

Stimulus May Be Just The First Chapter

by Jim Puzzanghera - February 22nd, 2009 - Los Angeles Times

Reporting from Washington -- If the fight to end the economic crisis is a war, the stock market's continuing dive, deepening troubles in the global economy and recent developments at home show that the enemy still has the upper hand -- and we're going to need reinforcements. Maybe massive reinforcements.

That could be a tough sell in Washington, where the rapidly increasing price tag is leading many Republicans and some conservative Democrats to adopt an old battle cry: Hell no, we won't go.

Yet the alternative to additional federal spending on a huge scale could be that the present crisis could not only worsen but continue, not for months or a couple of years but for a decade or more -- as an eerily similar financial system crash did in Japan during the 1990s.

"You could have a 'lost decade' just like Japan did," said Simon Johnson, an economist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and former chief economist at the International Monetary Fund. "Anybody who says it's not possible isn't paying attention."

If anyone doubts that America is headed for disaster, they need only read those four short paragraphs above. Because the reality is that the writer is proposing we do just exactly what the Japanese did, throw money at the problem. He argues that because it is such a huge crisis, his solution to avoid what happened to the Japanese is to ... do exactly what they did. Is that insane?

If the old story about the man who kept complaining about his headache all the while ramming his head into a wall ever had any timeliness, now is the time. If anyone doubts that Liberals and Conservatives will never be able to communicate, the logic of this writer, and Barack Obama and all of his socialist friends, will put that to bed forever. Unfortunately after 40 years of socialist propaganda in our schools, too many people are willing to buy the insane logic of the writer ... which is an echo of Obama and the Democrats proposals.

Want to join me in my absolute dread of the future of our nation under socialism? Take a look at the following graph.

America has enjoyed the greatest standard of living and greatest freedom of any nation because we have sought a reasonable compromise in the size of government. The graph above shows both sides the reality of the compromise that has worked so well. The size of government as a % of GDP has always stayed between 18% during periods when Republican-conservatives are in control and below 21% when Democrat-liberals are in control.

I think that the practical advantages of the balance are a recognition of both problems that our two political parties complain about; the abuse of too much government control and the unreasonable concentration of power and wealth that occurs when pure capitalism leads to monopolies. Practical Americans have found a great balance. I guess I should change that to "had" found a great balance.

At this point in our nation's history, the majority of the people have decided to abandon that compromise and dramatically increase government to a size never seen before in our nation. They did that when they voted for an Alinsky disciple. Voters have decided that we will become a socialist state at the federal level, and to hell with free enterprise. The size of government is spiking up and headed towards the 40-50% of the truly horrible socialist nations of the world, like Russia. Socialist tyranny will follow as surely as the night follows day.

The consequences of that befuddled decision by our people will be disastrous. For a start, the traditional low level of unemployment will become the horrible double digit rates normally experienced in other socialist states. The experience of European socialist states suggest that normal unemployment under socialism will be nearly double the traditional unemployment of America. In recent history we have never seen that level except as a spike during one bad period.

As can be seen from the graph above, only during the sustained push for socialism of the late sixties and seventies did we start to see the double digit unemployment rates that Europe tolerates as a norm. Why would America want to see such an intolerable condition become the norm? Are voters perhaps deluded that socialism will not be as bad here as it is everywhere else?

At no time during the two recent economic booms of our nation, from 1950 until 1965 and from 1983 until 2000, did we have any period of sustained economic distress. Recessions were always short and self correcting in our nation's great free enterprise system. In 1982 the recession was worse than today and we came out of that one by using the tools that are known to work in a free enterprise economy. Only when you try and defeat free enterprise, as Liberals always want, do the long term depressions occur. FDR and Johnson-Nixon-Carter have already proved that throwing money at the problem is the absolute worst solution. We should not try that delusion again, and yet that is what Obama and the Democrats are committed to.

What is frightening is that we are currently at war with a powerful movement that seeks our destruction, Islamo-fascism. The last thing our nation needs to do at this point is stupidly try a failed economic system proposed by people who do not believe that our enemies are real. If this "stimulus" is just the first chapter, America is headed for some truly bad times.

ACORN Trains Citizens
To Protest Home Foreclosures

by Derek Valcourt - February 19th, 2009 - WJZ-TV

A community organization breaks into a foreclosed home in what they are calling an act of civil disobedience ... "This is our house now," said Louis Beverly, ACORN ... "As you all can see, Donna [Hanks] is reclaiming her home, and she's putting a lock on her door at this time," said Beverly.

Newly energized by 4 billion in taxpayer dollars courtesy of the "stimulus" bill from former ACORN community organizer (better known in earlier days as 'community agitator') Barack Obama, ACORN is moving quickly to make their position clear. No matter whether you can pay for it or not, any minority can take any house they feel they want. If they can't pay, then the owner will just have to settle for what the squatter is willing to pay. That is the new "justice" in Barack Obama's socialist America.

According to 'polls' 60% of Americans approve of this nonsense and think Barack Obama is doing a great job. Even more, 70% think that by holding a cocktail party to tell Republicans they have no say because Barack Obama "won" constitutes "reaching out". In my opinion that just proves 70% of Americans are raving lunatics. Has reason by Americans really gotten this bizarre?

Democratic Congressman Says Opposition to Stimulus Is ‘Slap in the Face of African-Americans

by Page Ivey - February 20, 2009 - Associated Press

The highest-ranking black congressman said Thursday that opposition to the federal stimulus package by southern GOP governors is "a slap in the face of African-Americans."

[snip]

Clyburn spokeswoman Hope Derrick later said Clyburn didn't mean he thought those governors were racially motivated in their opposition, but that rejecting stimulus money would hurt black residents.

Who couldn't see this coming. Any criticism of Barack Obama has to be carefully phrased or the critic is denounced as a racist. No matter how many strings there are on the "stimulus" scam money, if you dare to not give it to all those "poor helpless blacks" it is because you are "slapping blacks in the face". However these blacks insist they are not calling you racist. It just means your actions have the effect of being racist.

This guy Clyburn seems to think that no blacks PAY taxes as opposed to living off WELFARE. If you look at the way blacks vote, you would certainly think that. 97% of blacks, including 85% of Republican blacks, voted for Obama's socialist program based on his race. If the racist bigotry of blacks shown by opinions in the O.J. Simpson case were not proof enough, this latest opinion by Clyburn should prove it once and for all. Blacks are racist bigots and everything is about race to them. But they are not calling you racist. You just are.

EPA Expected To Act
In Regulating Carbon Dioxide

by John M. Broder - February 19th, 2009 - Herald Tribune

The environmental agency is under order from the Supreme Court to make a determination whether carbon dioxide is a pollutant that endangers public health and welfare, an order that the Bush administration essentially ignored despite near-unanimous belief among agency experts that research points inexorably to such a finding.

Note the reference to "agency experts" in the excerpt above. Unfortunately these people have a bias in favor of the enormous power such a ruling would give them to control the world. I am extremely wary of accepting the opinion of people who are the beneficiaries of a ruling telling me how great the ruling will be.

You are breathing out carbon dioxide this very moment. If it is a pollutant that endangers public health and welfare, then damnit I want you to stop harming the planet. If that is the law of the land, that you are breathing a pollutant, then it is reasonable to demand that you stop, isn't it? Stop breathing!

How about the opposite side of this debate. Agriculture and the growth of food is dramatically improved by higher carbon dioxide levels. If that is true, how can it endanger public health and welfare?

The premise that carbon dioxide is a pollutant is a scam and the consequences are going to be disastrous for our economy and for individual freedom.

An A For Effort?

Talk About a Lousy Idea

by Michelle Cottle - February 18, 2009 - The New Republic

There's a wicked little piece in today's NYT about how college students' somehow, somewhere along the way came to believe that if they put in the effort then they automatically deserve a high grade, regardless of the actual quality of their work.

[snip]

What would be wrong is if a university trained its students to believe that they were excellent simply for getting up off their futons and doing what was expected of them. Did the reading? Attended class? Stayed up late working on a paper? Good for you, puppy! Sure, you did a craptastic job on that paper--not to mention the final--suggesting that you have no more than a fourth-grader's grasp of the material. But what the hell!? You worked hard. You showed up--even when you had that reallllly bad hangover. You may not have learned much, but you sure did try. Have a nice fat A. And here's hoping it comes in handy when your first employer fires you for not being able to tell your ass from your elbow when it comes to doing your job.

Sweet Jesus, where did such dizzying nonsense come from?

Even better, when did we ever expect to see such honesty about education non-sense from a publication like The New Republic. Are we really seeing a rebellion against the sense of entitlement of today's generation? With the election of the Magic Marxist Messiah, it is probably too late.

My favorite excerpt from the New York Times article is:
Jason Greenwood, a senior kinesiology major at the University of Maryland echoed that view.

“I think putting in a lot of effort should merit a high grade,” Mr. Greenwood said. “What else is there really than the effort that you put in?”

“If you put in all the effort you have and get a C, what is the point?” he added. “If someone goes to every class and reads every chapter in the book and does everything the teacher asks of them and more, then they should be getting an A like their effort deserves. If your maximum effort can only be average in a teacher’s mind, then something is wrong.”

Yeah. Something is wrong okay. You are not the brilliant thinker you visualize yourself as and reality is slapping you in the face. Only an idiot thinks that reality is the problem and that you can argue against it.

ROTFL

Money For Idiots

by David Brooks - February 19th, 2009 - New York Times

A few years ago, the global economic culture began swaying. The government enabled people to buy homes they couldn’t afford. The Fed provided easy money. The Chinese sloshed in oceans of capital. The giddy upward sway produced a crushing ride down.

These oscillations are the real moral hazard. Individual responsibility doesn’t mean much in an economy like this one. We all know people who have been laid off through no fault of their own. The responsible have been punished along with the profligate.

It makes sense for the government to intervene to try to reduce the oscillation. It makes sense for government to try to restore some communal order. And the sad reality is that in these circumstances government has to spend money on precisely those sectors that have been swinging most wildly — housing, finance, etc. It has to help stabilize people who have been idiots.

This rationalization is the deluded logic by which the socialists always excuse their seizure of the reins of government and start the process of forever making decisions for everyone else. Their form of government is always rationalized and always a disaster and yet they never can see that the cure is worse than the disease.

Just as Barack Obama is playing his chicken little game of "the sky is falling, the sky is falling", the threat of disaster is always the excuse used to end freedom and free enterprise. Free enterprise always has down cycles but it always recovers quickly. Socialism has fewer and lesser down cycles because it is a permanent depression of the economy. I have never been able to understand how socialists can sell the idea that to avoid a temporary lull in good times we should accept a permanent abandonment of good times. To protect a few idiots from the temporary consequences of their actions we permanently turn control of government over to idiots who sympathize with them. Isn't that stupid?

What else would you expect from the extreme liberals of the New York Times but irrational gibbberish such as this?

OKC Officer Pulls Man Over
For Anti-Obama Sign

by Staff - February 19, 2009 - The Oklahoman

If anyone had any doubt that the slide into socialist tyranny has begun, just check out the egregious abuse of police state intimidation used by the socialists to stop this man from expressing his opposition to one of Barack Obama's most contemptible positions, killing babies after they are born alive.

''When I was on my way there, the Secret Service called me and said they weren't going to ransack my house or anything ... they just wanted to (walk through the house) and make sure I wasn't a part of any hate groups."

The problem becomes the definition of a hate group. There are a huge number of Obama supporters who define the Republican Party as a hate group. How long do you think it will be before this minor intimidation is escalated to prison time for anyone Obama sees as opposition to his policies?

If you think it will not happen, I think you are a gullible fool.

The Collapse Of
The Capitalist Consensus

by John Tamny - February 19th, 2009 - Real Clear Markets

In a November 21 speech for the Cato Institute, Harvard professor Jeffrey Miron eagerly stated that the idea of counterparty risk is overdone. Miron noted that the only scholarly work on the subject was written by none other than our present Fed Chairman, Ben Bernanke, back in the early ’80s. Bernanke’s fears of a domino effect with regard to banks were then, and remain pure conjecture. And assuming the domino effect is real, when we consider how whole countries have bounced back from total economic and human destruction as a result of war, it seems a reach to assume that ours would fail to bounce back from the demise of one or many banks.

More broadly, it should be pointed out that every transaction irrespective of its business purpose involves counterparty risk. When businesses go under, counterparties are left short, but one or many failures rarely have any kind of lasting economic impact.

That is so because when businesses fail, they in no way disappear. Instead, an opportunity arises for competitors to quickly snap up market share, not to mention that capital previously misused by the failed business in question is quickly redirected to those with a stated objective to deploy it more wisely.

Free enterprise works. It has as a basic element the "creative destruction" that Joseph Schumpeter postulated. What has happened in America during the last 15 years is a total abandonment of acceptance of risk. Wall Streeters love their profits and have worked diligently to undermine the idea of risk. As a result they have created this new "crony capitalism" that embraces capitalism when markets are rising but seeks socialism to stop the down side of market corrections. Robert Rubin, Clinton's Treasury Secretary has been one of its major supporters and leaders. Through people like Rubin, Wall Street has embraced the idea that their primary role is facilitating mergers and acquisitions that create monopolies to maximize profits. Combine that with derivatives and credit default swaps and collateralized mortgage obligations and sub-prime mortgages for people with no jobs and no down payments and Wall Street has tried to find a world where risk can be eliminated. Market corrections can also be avoided. At least that is the theory. It doesn't work though.

In actuality, Wall Street has become the enemy of free enterprise. America has had the unfortunate mistake of having George W. Bush, a rich, pampered and arrogant buffoon as President at one of the most critical periods in our nation's history. With absolutely no understanding of business, he allowed Bernanke and other followers of Wall Street "crony capitalism" to panic him when the recession started last year.

All of the advise he received was anti competition and anti free enterprise. All of this advise was based on the premise that government power could fix something that could only be fixed by allowing the correction they feverishly tried to avoid. Bush was completely susceptible to this gibberish because he was so ignorant of how capitalism really worked. Just as FDR made a recession a depression early in the last century by embracing socialism, Bush and Obama are turning what would have been a typical recession into a depression by their incompetent invocation of socialism today.

This is an excellent article that reminds people of what used to be the underlying premise of American prosperity, capitalism works. All of these modern geniuses are simply proving that their illusions lead to the tyranny of socialism. That system doesn't have market corrections that cause temporary periods of hard times for a small part of society. Socialism is a system which rapidly degenerates into permanent economic misery for the majority ... such as Russia has experienced for nearly 100 years. Why is it that every generation creates a new group of people who think that if they are in charge the horrors of socialism can be overcome?

Goodbye To The Age Of Newspapers

(Hello to a New Era of Corruption)

by Paul Starr - March 04, 2009 [publication date, post date 2/19] - The New Republic

"Why American politics and society are about to be changed for the worse."

Should we care? Some observers, confident of the blessings of technology, refuse to shed any tears for the traditional giants of journalism, on the grounds that their troubles are of their own making and of little consequence to the general welfare. In this view, regardless of whether newspapers successfully adapt to the Internet, new and better sources of news will continue developing online, and they will fill whatever void newspapers leave. Others are so angry at the mainstream media--the reviled "MSM"--that they see the economic misery of the press as a deserved comeuppance. Let the bastards suffer.

The author does his best to convince his readers that this last position is wrong. Clearly he does not see that socialist tyranny, fostered by the extreme left wing bigots who dominate our newspapers, is worse than what he thinks will happen when news is not written by these liars of the left.

The 'corruption' that the author fears is free enterprise itself. Though not perfect, its shortcomings have proven repeatedly to be better for society and individual freedom than the government goon power of socialist solutions. No Stalinist purges have left millions dead here in America because we are a free society. Conversely, newspapers, with their love of socialism have evolved to the point that little gets reported but a litany of liberal lies. I am definitely of the school that accepts "let the bastards suffer" as the preferred outcome for our left wing dominated newspapers.

Obama Adopts Housing Scam

Editorial - February 18th, 2009 - Wall Street Journal

Let's focus on the plan's effect on the individual borrower. Anyone with mortgages owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be able to refinance to lower rates if his mortgage is between 80% and 105% of the value of the home. This is a sweet deal that is not available, for example, to many renters looking to buy homes now. Sadly for those who deferred the gratification of homeownership, the 20% down payment has now become industry standard. But at least their taxes will allow other people to stay in homes they can't afford.

Existing borrowers who may not qualify for Fan/Fred refinancing can still receive loan modifications that move their mortgage payments down to 31% of monthly income. In either case, no effort will be made to verify that recipients of aid were truthful on their original mortgage applications. Given that mortgage fraud skyrocketed during the housing boom, and that the Obama Administration intends to assist up to nine million troubled borrowers, we can say with certainty that the unscrupulous will be among those rescued.

The final straw in this outrageous scam? It will only protect buyers for 5 years. It was Obama and his supporters who were recently screaming about how using these 'teaser' rates were unscrupulous and deceitful. Of course that was before they were trying to use American taxpayer money to make sure that the housing crisis Democrats caused was pushed back until after Barack Obama's re-election.

The Truth About Slavery

by Michael Medved - February 18th, 2009 - USA Today

Historians usually cite six names as the most significant Founding Fathers: George Washington, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton. Of these six, three (Adams, Franklin and Hamilton) identified themselves as abolitionists, denounced slavery as a great evil and never owned slaves. The three slave masters (Washington, Jefferson and Madison, all Virginians) also expressed horror at the institution and agonized over their involvement with it. Washington made arrangements to free his slaves at the end of his life, while Jefferson wrote a first draft of the Declaration of Independence (rejected by his colleagues) that denounced slavery.

Not one of the six favored slavery. NOT ONE. More than half the nation was made up of free states. As noted in the article, slaves made up 13% of the population, with 87% of the nation's people and all the most prosperous states being FREE STATES. (In an interesting footnote blacks still make up 13% of our population to this day.)

Yet slavery was the norm all around the world at the time our nation was formed. For a nation to have such strong abolitionist sentiments at its creation was rare and unusual.

After slavery was abolished, there was little change in the economic success of our nation, because slavery was not an important element in our progress. Freedom and free enterprise were the engines that drove America.

However the hate-America brigades of the Democrat party, the party that actually defended slavery and fought its abolition, do not tolerate the truth. They spread the lie that America was a slave nation and that slaves were the foundation of our wealth. Like the lies of the resolution that triggered this article, hating America for being a slavery based nation is a favored myth of the socialist movement that is currently taking hold the reins of power.

Late Change In Course
Hobbled Rollout Of
Geithner's Bank Plan

by Neil Irwin and Binyamin Appelbaum - February 17th, 2009 - The Washington Post

Just days before Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner was scheduled to lay out his much-anticipated plan to deal with the toxic assets imperiling the financial system, he and his team made a sudden about-face.

According to several sources involved in the deliberations, Geithner had come to the conclusion that the strategies he and his team had spent weeks working on were too expensive, too complex and too risky for taxpayers.

They needed an alternative and found it in a previously considered initiative to pair private investments and public loans to try to buy the risky assets and take them off the books of banks. There was one problem: They didn't have enough time to work out many details or consult with others before the plan was supposed to be unveiled.

What is amazing about this liberal press whitewash of the problems with tax cheat Tim Geithner's plans? Reading the article makes it clear the new plan, not announced with any detail, is as half baked and unclear as the original plan which was abandoned.

Like the plan that Bush Treasury Secretary Paulson implemented with Geithner's assistance in Phase I, it does not address any of the basic flaws in home lending that led to the original crisis. Nor does it undo the panic that has been created in the financial markets because of the incompetence with which the crisis has been handled to date.

The reason is simple. The Democrats who created the CRA and its remodled Clinton rules to force home loans to unqualified borrowers, have no intention of losing the power to force loans to minorities. They think that as soon as the crisis is over, they can go back to business as usual. They have successfully argued that their interference in home lending was "unregulated" lending and they intend to more tightly control lending in the future.

This socialistic impulse based on calling black white and white black is what they call "change".

Enraged US TV Chief Beheads Wife

by Staff - February 18th, 2009 - New Zealand Herald

ORCHARD PARK, New York - The crime drips with brutal irony: a woman decapitated, allegedly by her estranged husband, in the offices of the television network the couple founded with the hope of countering Muslim stereotypes.

Muzzammil "Mo" Hassan is accused of beheading his wife last week, days after she filed for divorce. Authorities have not discussed the role religion or culture might have played, but the slaying gave rise to speculation that it was the sort of "honor killing" more common in countries half a world away ...

Here we have the actions of a man who was trying to show how moderate and middle of the road Muslims are. The theme of his TV Station was that Muslims were just like all the rest of us. And it was just as much a fraud as any of the Islamo-fascist extremists who claim that if you fear muslims it is because you are Islamophobic.

BEHEADED his wife. BEHEADED. Because of HONOR. Is this normal? It is not normal in my world.

And why have we heard nothing about this through MSM here in America? Are they trying to cover up how violent and savage Muslims really are?

Upside Down Economics

by Thomas Sowell - February 18th, 2009 - Townhall.com

From television specials to newspaper editorials, the media are pushing the idea that current economic problems were caused by the market and that only the government can rescue us.

What was lacking in the housing market, they say, was government regulation of the market's "greed." That makes great moral melodrama, but it turns the facts upside down.

It was precisely government intervention which turned a thriving industry into a basket case.

It is the daily litany of lies using bizarre logic from liberals that has left many people so frustrated. Government caused the current bank crisis by subverting rational bank decisions to force loans to people who were unqualified. Liberals claim that this government coercion was instead "free enterprise" allowing greed of the capitalists to damage the poor citizens. Government will fix the problem by regulating banks with even more onerous rules.

How can anyone believe these lies? Thomas Sowell, our most brilliant economist, explains what happened in clear concise language. How do we get more people to listen to him?

Ex-VP Dick Cheney Outraged
President Bush Didn't Grant
'Scooter' Libby Full Pardon

by Thomas M. Defrank - February 17th, 2009 - Daily News

In the waning days of the Bush administration, Vice President Dick Cheney launched a last-ditch campaign to persuade his boss to pardon Lewis (Scooter) Libby - and was furious when President George W. Bush wouldn't budge.

[snip]

After repeatedly telling Cheney his mind was made up, Bush became so exasperated with Cheney's persistence he told aides he didn't want to discuss the matter any further. The unsuccessful full-court press left Cheney bitter.

The arrogant "compassionate communist" may be a patriot, but he is deluded about our court system and the constant string of abuses where citizens have their lives destroyed by it. I suspect that if you tried to get George W. Bush to understand what happened to Walter Andre Sharpe Jr., Bush would be too stupid to believe you.

It is that arrogance and blind subservience to the abuses of our court system that leads me to the following conclusion. It would be in our country's interest for the socialist (but patriotic) followers of Bush to see him rot in jail for a few years. That is the reason that I totally support the push by many on the left to prosecute George W. Bush for anything they think constitutes a crime. Bush deserves jail if for no other reason, the contemptible treatment he gave to Scooter Libby and Ramos-Compean.

I am totally opposed to ever forgiving this man for the outrageous damage he did to America, the Republican Party, and the libertarian-conservative movement. He may be a patriot, but on every other measure he is a liar and a con artist.

Pakistan's U.S. POWs

by Ralph Peters - February 17th, 2009 - New York Post

We're now on the verge of doubling our troop commitment to a mismanaged war that lacks sane goals and teeters toward inanity. And we're putting our troops at the mercy of one of the world's most-corrupt states - Pakistan - which has cut a deal with extremists to enforce Sharia law a short drive from the capital.

After taking apart al Qaeda's base network and punishing the Taliban, we should have left the smoking ruins. This should have been a classic punitive expedition: We're not obliged to rehabilitate foreign murderers.

As for those who exclaim that "We would have had to go back!" - well, so what? Had we needed to hammer Afghanistan again in 2007 or 2008, that still would've been cheaper in blood (ours and the Afghans') and treasure than trying to build a "rule of law" state where no real state ever existed.

Staying left us with criminally vulnerable logistics - ever the bane of campaigns in the region. The Brits and the Soviets both learned the hard way that superior fighting skills don't suffice in Afghanistan ...

I am hesitant to second guess our military leaders, or President George W. Bush, but I am coming to the opinion that on this battlefield, we got it wrong. At least I am of the opinion that the right course now is to leave, now that Khan has been released from house arrest and it is clear we do not have the logistics to support our troops. Let the Afghans fight it out among themselves. If the Taliban takes over a major portion of the country, simply bomb that portion the way we did Kosovo.

Sometimes 'boots on the ground' is not the way to go.

However I have no confidence that Obama will do the right thing in this battlefield of the war against the Islamo-fascists. No confidence at all.

Rahm's 'Rent'
Is Just The Tip
Of Ethics Iceberg

by Dick Morris & Eileen McGann - February 17th, 2009 - New York Post

News broke last week that Rahm Emanuel, now White House chief of staff, lived rent- free for years in the home of Rep. Rosa De Lauro (D-Conn.) - and failed to disclose the gift, as congressional ethics rules mandate. But this is only the tip of Emanuel's previously undisclosed ethics problems.

[snip]

During that time, he also served as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee - which gave Greenberg [DeLauro's husband] huge polling contracts. It paid Greenberg's firm $239,996 in 2006 and $317,775 in 2008. (Emanuel's own campaign committee has also paid Greenberg more than $50,000 since 2004.)

The Magic Marxist Messiah promised he would run the most ethical administration in history. Actually he did not finish the sentence. He meant the most ethical administration in the history of socialists.

Socialists by their very nature think that the money of others should rightfully belong to them, so when someone gives them something, they don't see it as income, they see it as returning to them their rightful due. Now if you are something disgusting, like a Republican or a conservative, those rules don't apply to you. Sound like a double standard? Right now, the Democrats are simply stunned that all these rules they wrote for the evil Republicans should DARE be applied to them.

That is why they cannot understand how anyone would think that they have done anything wrong.

Tax cheat for a Treasury Secretary? No problem.

Free rent in a mansion for political contributions? No problem.

Pay for play by a Governor for Commerce Secretary? No problem.

I think we are up to over a dozen blatant examples of criminal conduct for Obama appointees. Over a dozen that we know of!

Obama is steam rolling Republicans because they are too stupid to see what the double standard of the rules mean. Obama just took his first vacation 3 weeks into his Presidency because he was exhausted. He just could not understand why only 3 Republicans were willing to support his 'stimulus' bill no matter how much it expanded the socialist government power of our nation. By the time these 3 figure out what they have done, the fairness doctrine will have shut down free speech in America. Conservatives and Libertarians will have no voice. These 3 will be driven from power just like all other Republicans.

Obama Sells Out Israel

by Anne Bayefsky - February 16th, 2009 - National Review

In a major foreign-policy decision taken over the weekend, President Obama has decided to legitimize the United Nations’s “anti-racism” forum known as Durban II ... The “Durban Review Conference,” scheduled for April in Geneva, is the progenitor of the anti-semitic hatefest that took place in South Africa in early September 2001 ...

In truth, this Obama trip to the U.N. represents an abandonment of Israel. All his campaign promises to the contrary, sacrificing Israel for the sake of currying favor with others — demagogues included — is clearly at the top of the new president’s agenda. Israel asked Obama not to attend. Canada also pulled out of Durban II and expected American support. Instead, today’s American foreign policy leaves America’s closest ally and its biggest trading partner out in the cold.

The speed at which President Obama is selling off American assets is breathtaking. The speed at which he is selling them out is even faster.

That Barack Obama is a global socialist is so irrevocably proven it is no longer subject to discussion. That he hates America and will destroy us if given a chance is also clear. That he hates Israel is equally obvious. I cannot believe that there are still people who think this is subject to dispute. Barack Obama absolutely promised Israel that he would not participate in this conference and he is blatantly breaking his promise before a month of his Presidency has passed.

World War III (the cold war) was won by Ronald Reagan without having it ever break out into all out nuclear war. We are unlikely to be able to say that about World War IV (the current war against Islamo-fascism). That war will likely escalate to nuclear with a bomb going off in Tel Aviv. It will be shortly after that when we will see nuclear bombs in America's big cities. How long the nuclear phase will last and how much of the world will be destroyed before it is over is not clear. What is clear is that Barack Obama is doing everything he can to bring the nuclear phase of hostilities in this conflict closer. Can that be his goal?

Obama will get no warning ...

... when the people's response to this crisis comes

by
Gary Younge - February 16th, 2009 - Guardian

Somerset, NJ - "As the financial crisis has deepened, affluent Americans, in particular, have grown increasingly sceptical that the economy will come back in the coming year," concluded a Pew research poll last week. This time last year it was mainly the low-paid and poorly educated who feared for their livelihoods. Now, graduates and the wealthy are similarly gloomy. How long they will endure such reduced circumstances, who they will blame, and what they will do about it remains to be seen.

What they will do is of increasing interest to a host of angry people who think Obama is frightening. What I noted today is the most amazing thing I have ever seen in politics. Conservative America is becoming enraged ... bordering on deranged. Obama has average every day Americans scared to death. On conservative web sites that are usually bland, so many people were talking about tax revolts and arming themselves and sending tea bags in to their representatives that one person wrote, "I must issue respectful dissent from the idea that this is 'planned economic destruction' by a shadowy cadre of globalists, bankers, socialists ... that sentiment crosses the line into all-out paranoia and panic. While it's appropriate and rational to have concern for our economy and to be wary of our neophyte fool of a President, the warnings of civil war, incitement of tax revolt, admonishments to buy guns, stock canned goods and ammo are simply counter-productive ... let's not turn this site into Obama Derangement Central ... " He got little sympathy or support for his keep calm attitude.

I don't know if this will subside or not, but it is a degree of anger and rage I simply never expected to see in America. Obama is not a uniter. He may have a lot of people who support him but there is a HUGE element in our nation that despises him. To date he has proved as divisive as any man I have ever seen.

Obama’s Revenge

by Joan Swirsky - February 15, 2009 - Canda Free Press

Once upon a time, a white teenager from Kansas got pregnant by her black Kenyan boyfriend, Barack Obama Sr., or was it her husband? Whatever. (I say whatever because we’ve never seen either marriage or divorce certificates). Some say the couple was in Kenya visiting relatives when the birth of their son, Barack Obama Jr., occurred. No matter. (I say no matter because we’ve never seen an authentic birth certificate). By the time the baby was two years old his father abandoned him for his other wife and child in Kenya.

I wonder how toddler Barry felt when his father left him, and never reappeared until a single time when the boy was 10. Bewildered? Sad? Lonely? Angry? What do two-year-olds do with those feelings?

It didn’t take long for Barry’s mother to meet and marry an Indonesian native named Lolo Soetoro. They moved to Indonesia, where her child became Barry Soetoro, took on Indonesian citizenship, and was presumably schooled in public, Christian, and Muslim schools. (I say presumably because we’ve never seen those school records). But when Barry was 10 years old, his mother sent him back to the U.S. to be raised by her parents, Madelyn and Stanley Dunham, although she kept her baby daughter Maya Soetoro with her.

I wonder how the by-now fully-sentient young Barry felt when his mother sent him packing. Sad? Jealous of the baby who remained behind with mommy? Confused and dizzy by the disparate cultures – languages, customs, foods, sights, sounds, schooling – he had experienced? Resentful? What did Barry do with those feelings?

By the time he was 10, the boy had been abandoned three times – by his father, stepfather, and mother. And although he was raised by his white grandparents in Hawaii – where “people of color” were not his color – he found out soon enough that his mixed-race background rendered him, in effect, an outsider. Did that make him feel self-conscious, indignant, victimized?

But he wasn’t altogether an outsider. In Hawaii, young Barry met Frank Marshall Davis, his first and perhaps most influential mentor. The infamous Marshall, a Communist activist (and self-confessed pedophile) taught Barry – was it Obama, Soetero, Dunham? – that white people were the devil incarnate and that blacks were the most “victimized” people on earth.

This quick history of how the Magic Marxist Messiah came to be the most duplicitous President in the history of the United States is an amazing read. History. It seems history no longer matters to the Americans who have bought in to the incredible illusion that has become Barack Obama.

Joan Swirsky has written a great article that neatly summarizes the history of this man. With the history of those he has surrounded himself with, anyone who is a patriot would have to wonder, how can this man have advanced to the most powerful position in the world? Are our fellow citizens who voted for this man really that gullible?

Even more confusing. How can Republican leadership think that constantly assuring his minions how much we admire Obama leads to anything but long term disaster? Is that not simply appeasement by losers who are seizing their loser status and wallowing in it?

Every single day that passes I get more and more angry at the idea that the greatest nation on earth can be taken down by such an egomaniacal deceitful charlatan. America has got to wake up.

I would be happy if we could get Republican leadership to wake up. Especially the apparently gullible Michael Steele. Please Michael, explain to me how the bait and switch duplicity and deceit of Barack Obama has earned your public insistence that you like and admire Barack Obama?

How Democracies Become Tyrannies

by Ed Kaitz - February 16th, 2009 - American Thinker

Back in 1959 the philosopher Eric Hoffer had this to say about Americans and America:

For those who want to be left alone to realize their capacities and talents this is an ideal country.

That was then. This is now. Flash forward fifty years to the election of Barack Obama and a hard left leaning Democrat Congress. What Americans want today, apparently, is a government that has no intention of leaving any of us alone.

How could Hoffer have been so wrong about America? Why did America change so quickly? Can a free people willingly choose servitude? Is it possible for democracies to become tyrannies? How?

The answers to these questions were famously addressed in a few pages tucked within the greatest masterpiece of the classical world: Plato's Republic.

This is an interesting article for the most obvious reason. It indicates that those of us concerned about the failure of our society to fear the possibility of slavery for our nation are not alone in that fear. Ed Kaitz has pointed us back to something that all of us should have read and absorbed if we wanted to remain a free nation. Plato's Republic is a perfect example of the age old wisdom that those who do not understand history are condemned to repeat it. It is now more than 2,500 years after it was created and still serves as the perfect explanation for those who wish to remain free of the forces that hope to enslave them. Yet we seem not to have learned the lesson.

The 'Shut Up' Doctrine

Editorial - February 14th, 2009 - New York Post

With the mega-pork, er, stimulus bill done, Democrats will now turn to regulating political speech they don't like.

That is, they're revving up to resurrect the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

There used to be a time in America when the normal attitude about speech was summarized by the uniquely American statement, "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it." The demise of this attitude started with the so-called 'fairness doctrine'. Today the prevalent attitude among liberals (and even some conservatives) is "I do not agree with what you say and will make sure some bureaucrat or judge makes you STOP!"

With this new attitude about speech, and the corruption of our courts to the point they rewrite the Constitution with enthusiasm, why is anyone surprised that the power hungry Democrats plan to end the free speech of their opposition?

Nuclear Lies Are Keeping You Afraid

The father of the Gaia theory, says far from being uniquely dangerous, only nuclear power can solve the food and energy crises ahead

by James Lovelock - February 15th, 2009 - The Sunday Times

There are now more than 440 nuclear power stations in the world, producing 17% of all the electricity used, about the same percentage as hydro-electricity. Other sources of renewable energy - biofuels, wind, etc - produce only 2%. The safety record, their cost and the local acceptability of these fission-powered stations make them the most desirable of all sources. So why in the First World do we still persist in the falsehood that they are uniquely dangerous?

I think we fail to welcome nuclear energy as the one good and reliable power source because we have been grievously misled by a concatenation of lies. Falsehood has built on falsehood and is mindlessly repeated by the media until belief in the essential evil of all things nuclear is part of an instinctive response.

It is often said that nuclear waste is uniquely deadly and will persist for millions of years and poison the global environment. All pollution by chemical elements persists. Lead pollution from a mine, smelter or factory where it is made into things lasts for ever; the same is true of mercury, arsenic, cadmium and thallium: these toxic elements are permanently with us. What is remarkable about nuclear waste is that it fades away. In 600 years the high-level waste from a nuclear power station is no more radioactive or dangerous than the uranium ore from which it originated. More importantly, there is hardly any nuclear waste to worry about. The yearly output of waste from a 1,000MW power station would fit in a London taxi.

Where do all these lies originate? From the 'chicken little' enviro extremists whose major antipathy is for mankind itself. There is no lie about any cheap energy source that will not be invented and spread to keep mankind without sufficient energy. The adoration of wind power by these fanatics is specifically because it is so obviously a stupid idea.

Who Attacked Our Economy?
Why Does No One Care?

by Diana West - February 12th, 2009 - Townhall.com

On Thursday at about 11 o'clock in the morning [on 9/15/2008], the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous drawdown of money market accounts in the United States to the tune of $550 billion, as being drawn out in the matter of an hour or two. The Treasury opened up its window to help. It pumped $105 billion into the system and quickly realized that they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldn't be further panic out there, and that's what actually happened.

Who did this? President George W. Bush has alluded to it a couple of times, but has been very leery of telling the American people about the details. Was he afraid of sharing the fact we do not know who did it? It killed the McCain-Palin campaign, so Obama does not want to talk about it. Is there anyone out there who cares who it was that tried to take down America?

The only previous known attack of this nature was when George Soros took down the U.K. and made billions in the process. Was this Soros again? Was this his way of making another fortune off subverting a currency? Someone made billions. Who was it?

The article notes a number of countries that hate America that could have participated, and like Soros, they all would prefer the Magic Marxist Messiah in power.

Will we ever know who did this? Don't bet on it.

Obama's Pork Barrel Is Open
– And It Is Stinking

by Gerald Warner - February 15th, 2009 - Scotland on Sunday

There is no terminology available to express adequately the appalling irresponsibility of this naked political banditry. To have squandered a fraction of the near-$1 trillion cost of Obama's pork barrel in days of prosperity would have been more than reprehensible; to do so at a time of financial crisis is unforgivable. Obama likes to pose as the heir of Abraham Lincoln: as this shameless bribery demonstrates, he is heir only to the Chicago Democrat political machine that spawned him.

[snip]

For do not forget that Timothy Geithner, the Treasury Secretary who displays a boyish unfamiliarity with tax returns, is standing by to throw a further $2.25 trillion at banks. If you add up the US government's commitments, the sums are: Federal Reserve, $5.5 trillion; Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, $1.5 trillion; Treasury, $947 [billion]; Federal Housing Administration , $300 [billion] – total $8.34 trillion. There is, however, one key component missing: the costs of nationalising Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which adds $5 trillion, producing the grand total of $13.3 trillion.

It is not just the amount. It is the useless anti-business pro-goverment waste of it all. This agenda is the equivalent of rushing to the promenade stores on the Titanic to buy fancy toys which you can hold closely while you drown.

The national debt was under $11 trillion at the end of the year. In this last six months we have committed the American taxpayer to spend more than that ON TOP of the national debt.

America has gone insane. The vote for Obama was the first evidence. That only 37% approve of this bill while 81% think Obama is doing a good job can hardly be called sanity.

Republicans Must Be
A National Party

by Fred Barnes February 13th, 2009 - Wall Street Journal

It's "possible," [Governor Jeb Bush] says, that he'll never run again -- for anything. That includes the presidency in 2012. "I'm totally comfortable with what I'm doing and how I'm going about it. I hope I can find a role to play that doesn't include running for office to make a contribution."

What a liar. The Bush family is driven to run for public office. Plus the Wall Street Barons love the Bush family. They know that in their hearts the Bushes hate competition as much as Wall Street does. Corporate socialism is in their blood and that is what Wall Street stands for. Therefore, they can get money from Wall Street easier than any other Republicans.

What many Republicans still don't get is that Wall Street is the enemy of freedom and free enterprise. Mergers and acquisitions are not the process which leads to cost effective products. Mergers and acquisition are legal methods to rush the process of becoming a monopoly so that corporate managers and stockholders can bleed society with outrageous profits. That is what Wall Street stands for. Not free enterprise.

Within the Republican Party the Bush family is totally prepared to sell the voters on lies that are incomprehensibly false. The "compassionate communism" that George W. Bush sold as "compassionate conservatism" is a perfect example. The lie about taxes that the first Bush made is another well known example. Entitled, arrogant and self deluding, they seek power, not a return to the freedom based values that started the republican movement.

On a positive note, I am certain that like his father and his brother, the two Georges, Jeb is a patriot. They are not global socialists but a uniquely separate version I call American socialists. However socialists is what they are. Jeb included.

So many delusions are being sold in this article. When Jeb talks about education he brags on one of the most socialist systems in the world, Sweden. Why are so many of the socialists, global and American, unwilling to go back to an American education system that worked? Our system of 50 years ago was the glory of the world. It is the socialists that have destroyed it. Why is what worked never praised?

The article says Jeb is popular with both moderate and conservative Republicans. Unfortunately you can't figure out what that means today. A huge percentage of people who call themselves 'conservative' are firm believers in socialism. They just call it 'compassionate conservatism'. That it is really big government socialism simply slips their notice. How does a label matter when it is a LIE? Few truly conservative Republicans would embrace the re-invention of 'conservatism' that is at the heart of this man's duplicitous agenda.

Like his brother George, Jeb talks about small government Republicans while indicating he does not have a clue what 'small government' means. In the article he excuses the huge drug entitlement benefit his brother got passed as being necessitated by the war against the Islamo-fascists. Double talk. Pure lying double talk.

Married to a Mexican, Jeb also excuses opening our borders. Like so many who don't care about the cultural changes being shoved on the middle class by people who come here for personal greed, not in search of freedom, Bush ignores their demands because he is rich enough to not care. What happens to others is indifferent to him. It is easy for him to characterize those who disagree with him on this issue as racists and Xenophobes. He does not share the values or concerns of middle America. He is trying to change America. Not defend America.

Like so many Republicans who talk a good game but don't really care about individual freedom for most Americans, Jeb Bush is perfectly happy living in a socialist tyranny. The rich like Jeb Bush don't feel the constraints. Jeb defends Barack Obama and thinks Obama is a good thing for America. He doesn't feel we should disagree with Obama or criticize him. That position is the final proof that Jeb Bush is not the man that Republicans need to lead us. We need someone who at his core understands that small government is about personal freedom. Being Wall Street's newest front man is not about personal freedom.
